It's hard not to consider a 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza like this. After all, you can take this vintage convertible home for less than the price of a new econobox; you can maintain it with a basic tool set; and it's always a conversation piece.

Corvairs always turn heads wherever they go, with the perfect mix of European styling and American chrome. Of course, it also doesn't hurt that this one is wearing its factory-correct shade of Palomar Red. It's a sunny day kind of cruiser, but even when the weather turns wet, the new black vinyl top gives it a nice sports car-like appearance. Like any good 1960s American, there's nice chrome on the front bumper, and on the lower rocker panel. This is the performance Monza model, so it also gets the cool badging, and sport wire wheel covers.

Inside there are some nice touches that let you know this car was someone's baby. The deep black interior elements look amazing, with no fading on everything from the dash, to the carpets. The top-of-the-line Monzas came with bucket seats as standard equipment. Their button-textured pattern is not often seen outside of the convertibles, which means not many people take the time to get them right like ... Please ask for the full description.

Their button-textured pattern is not often seen outside of the convertibles, which means not many people take the time to get them right like this in restorations. The dual cowl dash borrows styling for this Corvair like a Corvette, and the driver gets to take command with the optional deluxe chrome steering wheel. This interior feels original right down to the heater/defrost controls and factory AM radio.

Chevrolet was out for something truly different with the Corvair. The rear-mounted air-cooled flat-six motor is set up for a lower center of gravity, and some Porsche-style handling fun at a value price. This engine was built to have a large rev range, and this is really felt while rowing through the floor-mounted four-speed manual transmission. But this drop top was not run at the ragged edge all its life, and the included maintenance receipts will prove to you this desirable history.

The Corvair is that perfect classic you can pick up without going broke. That's especially true when you look at one as thoroughly sorted as this. What other convertible can you possibly enjoy this much for under $15K? Call today!!
