The mirror-like chrome bumpers and the intricate brightwork look like there's been money spent there, too. Plus, we all love a black vinyl top on these American classics.

The interior is every bit as nicely finished, with a black cloth bench, fresh carpeting, and great-looking door panels that include wood inserts. The red floor mats add a nice touch of interior color and make a nice coordinating effect with the exterior color. Features like the ice-cold air conditioning and upgraded AM/FM stereo with aux input make this classic a comfortable choice for up to six occupants. But this Nova is clearly a driver's car at its heart. You get the factory-style sports wheel, and beyond that is a wide speedometer flanked by the fuel gauge and a tach. That last feature is a particularly nice complement to the performance shifter. The fender callouts might say 396, but that's actually a lie... the motor is a much larger 454 cubic-inch big block! The chrome air cleaner and valve covers give this monster V8 plenty of flash, but the Edelbrock intake and four-barrel carburetor are also added so there's extra performance, too. All you have to do have to do is to rev the motor and let the dual exhaust announce your power superiority, but then again, it's out on the road where you'll really appreciate this coupe. That's because this big block Nova is supported by reliable components like an aluminum radiator to keep you cool in traffic with the A/C running, and there's a new clutch on the BorgWarner T10 four-speed.
