The first-generation fastback Mustang is the rarest and most desirable version out there, and this 1966 example comes with the best attention-grabbing touches. Cool blue paint, V8 power, the right upgrades, and three decades under the same careful owner make this one irresistible.
Code F Arcadian Blue is an attractive way standout against the more common red or black 2+2 Mustangs. This factory-correct shade looks especially nice because there's been an investment in a professional respray that gives this one an added depth when the sunlight hits the modern clearcoat. Bodywork is excellent with straight panels and good alignment throughout, which means you can shut the doors with confidence every time. It's also nicely detailed just as it would have been in 1966 with bright chrome bumpers, those iconic 289 badges on the front fenders, and factory stylized steel wheels. No modifications, no additions, and no custom pieces... it's a clean fastback Mustang that looks like a million bucks.

Inside this one has all the right premium touches. It starts with a two-tone blue interior that coordinates nicely with the exterior paint. Ford's trademark Comfort-Weave inserts give the buckets a racy look, while remaining comfortable enough for long-distance cruising. In between them is the optional center console, which always looks great in these 2+2s. The upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo and R-134a air conditioning are more modern elements that passengers will love, but their cool vintage appearance means they fit perfectly in this classic. But like any good Mustang, the best treats are reserved for the driver. You get the three-spoke sports steering wheel with pony logo center cap. Beyond that, everyone got the upgraded gauge package in '66, but not may also had the Rally Pac that added a tach and clock on the steering column.
Ford's reliable and perky 289 cubic-inch V8 moves the lightweight Mustang enthusiastically through any traffic. The engine bay is tidy and presents well with a bright air cleaner and valve coves. The tidy wire, hoses, and belts tell you this has been well maintained, and so you can be ready to hit the road at a moment's notice. This iconic V8 also has a host of performance upgrades available, and in fact, this one already has an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, headers, and an H-pipe dual exhaust. All of which give this pony a fiercer sound and a quicker gallop. Adding to the go-anywhere feeling in this classic is the power steering, front disc brakes, and C4 three-speed automatic transmission.
This is a cared for Mustang that has had the same owner for over 30 years. You can see the proof in everything from the painted undercarriage to the included owner's manual. Fastbacks are everyone's favorite, and this one is a cut above. Call today!!!
