How could you possibly go wrong with this 1983 Jeep CJ7 Renegade??? It tells the world you can easily go off road, but since this one is has an unmolested factory appearance, it also retains the chic reputation that will get you parked at the front of the valet stand. The original exterior white with Renegade graphics is a look we can't get enough of in our showroom. The whole appearance is like a desert sunset, and so this CJ7 feels like it's itching for an adventure even when parked downtown. And that's really the point of owning a classic like this. You can take it to the beach or in the backwoods, but for those times with its just part of the grocery run, the rest of us in the parking lot are wondering what journey you'll be off to next. This is still an American classic, and so there's plenty of room for attractive chrome on the iconic front panel, bumper, and wheels. The caramel vinyl interior matches perfectly with the earthy tones of the exterior. That's something you need in a real Jeep, because part of the experience is staying open to the world. While the bucket seats are covered in a nearly bulletproof vinyl, they are comfortable enough to make the trail an easy ride. In between is a locking center console that also has the welcomed addition of cup holders. The controls are laid out in typical Jeep fashion, with a grippy three-spoke steering wheel, long-throw shifter for the four-speed manual, and a shorter stalk for the four-wheel drive. Plus, heater controls and gauges clustered in the center of the dash. The AM/FM stereo with auxiliary hookup has analogue controls for the period-correct feeling while providing upgraded audio.
Under the hood is the original numbers-matching 258 cubic-inch inline-six motor that has traveled less than 57,700 miles since new. This is a long established powerplant for Jeep that has proven its reliability and continues to have easy parts availability. Torquey and robust, this is the engine you want pulling through daily traffic or the worst slop Mother Nature can throw at you. The four-speed manual feeds the stock two-speed transfer case and seriously beefy axles at both ends. Tall gears and low range give it rock-crawling stability, but thanks to the modern BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, it can cruise easily at highway speeds in high range. In fact with its power steering and power brakes (with discs up front), this CJ 7 is just as comfortable being a city slicker on the weekdays as it is a country climber on the weekends.
This Jeep CJ-7 is a turnkey package for the buyer who wants a classic that's ready to turn heads in the outdoors or at Urban Outfitters. The best part is the affordable price allows you to do both. Call today!!!
