This 1971 Ford Mustang convertible will always have a place in classic car history as it represents a cool transition of the original pony car stretching its legs into muscle machine territory.

1971 was a great year for the Mustang if you're a fan of American flair. This was the first appearance of a major restyle, and it followed Detroit's maxim of lower, wider, and longer. These cars have nice design touches such as the line that follows the front fender all the way through the door, and a recessed back panel that gave it a sporty overhang in the rear. The Mustang was given these elongated lines to create a meaner appearance, and aggressive is exactly how this drop top was built to look. The shine of the fresh and iconic Grabber Green paint provides the perfect backdrop to all the dark accents. This includes the Mach 1 triple stripe, soft top, front spoiler, and NACA hood with blacked-out paint over the dual ram air openings. Finishing off this speedy image are the optional Magnum 500 chrome wheels (the original wheels also come in the sale.)

The interior is the exact right color for this convertible. The black vinyl bucket seats match the accents on the exterior, which always ... Please ask for the full description.

Finishing off this speedy image are the optional Magnum 500 chrome wheels (the original wheels also come in the sale.)

The interior is the exact right color for this convertible. The black vinyl bucket seats match the accents on the exterior, which always looks cool with the top down. The seats, carpets, door panels, and dash all have a very fresh feeling, which keeps it looking good when this Mustang is open to the world. Ford was going for a premium feeling with the Mustang during this era, so you get some nice wood paneling touches on the door and the factory two-spoke steering wheel. Another great feature is the full factory gauge package. So not only does this Mustang come with a tachometer, but also there is a nice tri-dial display for the oil, water, and voltage mounted in the middle of the dash. Just below that is an upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo as well as heat/defrost and provisions for air conditioning. While those last two help keep you comfortable with the top down further into the seasons, anytime you need to button up, it's just a touch of a button with the power folding roof.

Under the hood this Mustang has a correct 351 Cleveland V8. It keeps to proper H-code appearance with the big air cleaner and Ford blue paint on the block. In fact, it looks so correct that the consignor believes this is the original motor. It has been upgraded to a four-barrel carburetor for added power and better rumble out of the dual exhaust. More importantly, this is a well-maintained V8 that comes with thousands in maintenance receipts, including a recent one for servicing that includes a new rear main oil seal, oil pan gasket, and power steering pump. Feel free to take this one highway cruising with great features like the three-speed automatic transmission and power steering.

Mustang convertibles can be attractive purely on emotion. This one is even better because it also includes sensible packaging at a value price... but you can still tell everyone you got it because it's a cool Graber Green Mustang drop top. Call today!!!
