Jeep calls their top-of-the-line Wrangler the "Unlimited" and one look at this 2014 Wrangler Unlimited and you know the term is appropriate. With a few functional upgrades, this really is the ultimate SUV that can go anywhere on the planet without losing that essential Jeep flavor.
Building a 4-door Wrangler seems like a no-brainer, but it took decades for Jeep to get around to doing it. However, this Wrangler Unlimited was worth the wait. Dressed in sinister black paint, it's almost too pretty to go out bashing around in the rough, but then again, with a burly custom front bumper, step plates, and upgraded lighting, maybe that was the intention all along. With just 7187 miles on the clock, this 2014 Wrangler is essentially brand new in most any way that matters and finish quality is worlds better than the good-old-bad-old-days of AMC and the vintage CJs. And despite the upscale accommodations inside, it's still pure Jeep, with doors that come off, a top that goes down, and a windshield that does indeed fold flat. Big fender flares cover the oversized rubber and aside from the lights, there's nothing on the entire exterior of the truck that isn't painted some shade of black, so it looks ...
Big fender flares cover the oversized rubber and aside from the lights, there's nothing on the entire exterior of the truck that isn't painted some shade of black, so it looks awesome from any angle. And it just wouldn't be a Jeep without the spare tire out back for everyone to see.
Jeep has domesticated the Wrangler inside, where you get supportive bucket seats with tough, breathable fabric that's still tough as nails. The dash is more upscale than ever before and is packed with useful gauges that include all the important functions. Details like A/C, cruise control, a tilt steering column, and an AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo system are now part of the package, so you don't have to sacrifice comfort for that legendary off-road capability. Upgraded speakers were installed shortly after the truck left the showroom, so the stereo system sounds amazing, even with the top down. The controls are intuitive and easy to use, and the 4-wheel-drive system is ready to go at a moment's notice with just the flick of a switch. And adding some length and two back doors does wonders for the Wrangler's practicality, so it no longer needs to be relegated to "weekend toy" status. Heck, there's even decent storage out back!
Chrysler's 3.5 liter V6 provides plenty of grunt for the Unlimited, moving the 4-door 4x4 unlike anything that came before it. It's buried under a lot of plastic shrouds, so it's not much to look at, but as a brand new vehicle (with a warranty!), it starts instantly and drives like, well, a new Jeep. Sophistication is up and it's a lot smoother and more polished than you'd expect. A 5-speed automatic transmission pulls down decent fuel economy and it still has legendary Jeep abilities thanks to a 2-speed transfer case that still packs a low range for really rough going. The suspension is built for it too, with live axles fore and aft, which is really the only right way to do it, and there are plenty of skit plates underneath for getting through the rough stuff without getting hurt. The suspension is stock but don't let that fool you, it's still plenty capable, and there's even a decent grumble from the exhaust. Gorgeous 17-inch HELO wheels were fitted in place of the rather bland stockers and then wrapped in 285/70/17 Hercules off-road radials.
Essentially a brand new Jeep with a few tasteful mods to set it apart, all for a price that'll save you a few bucks over doing it all yourself. Call today!
