Look through our inventory and you'll see a lot of 1940 Fords, but oddly, not many Chevrolets. The big two have been duking it out since the mid-20s, and if your tastes run to the pre-war era, you owe it to yourself to take a good look at this gorgeous 1940 Chevrolet Master Deluxe coupe. Tastefully built with a stout 396 and a lot of luxury and convenience items, this is the perfect rod for the guy who likes to drive...fast.
The bright blue paint seems to glow in the sunlight and on the curvaceous coupe's body it looks quite appealing, highlighting the shape without hiding the details. The body hasn't been chopped, although there are lots of little tricks to make it interesting up close. The Master Deluxe is already one of the most handsome cars of the era, with tidy proportions, cool faired-in headlights, and a timeless profile, but details like the one-piece hood, shaved door handles, and a Vee'd windshield all make it look smooth without erasing its personality. Much of the chrome has either been painted to match the body or shaved entirely, so it has a monochromatic look that works rather well, and you'll note the smooth grille is similar to the stocker but was custom made.

You couldn't ask for a better place to spend some time than the race-grade interior. The roll cage, harnesses, and racing buckets suggest race car, but the fully upholstered door panels, heavy-duty subwoofer enclosures, and lots of sound-deadening materials say otherwise. There's also A/C, power windows, a tilt steering column, and a thumping AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo with a touch-screen navigation system with speakers scattered throughout the passenger compartment. The dash was smoothed and reshaped, and now uses Dakota Digital gauges for a cool effect against the blue paint. Things like the A/C vents and controls are nicely integrated for a very clean look and all the controls are located on a center stack that looks almost like it was put there by the factory. Obviously the car has been tubbed and a custom fuel cell and a pair of Optima batteries have been stashed in the center of the trunk. It's quite nicely finished with black carpets and contrasting blue piping, just like the rest of the interior, with all the working parts hidden under a custom enclosure.
Cruising is easy thanks to the 396 cubic inch V8 under the hood. Making big horsepower and torque, it moves the slick coupe with authority that the original inline-six could never manage. With an Edelbrock Twisted Torquer intake manifold and a 4-barrel carburetor, it's a reliable powerplant that's also a party on the road. It's got a very cool high-tech look with custom made valve covers, satin gray detail work, and a matching blue block, all of which showcase the attention to detail found throughout the car. The stout big block is linked to a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, so it's an effortless cruiser made for long-distance sprints. Out back there's a narrowed Ford 9-inch rear with 4.10 gears on Competition Engineering ladder bars, while the front suspension is a Camaro subframe with power steering and 4-wheel disc brakes. Classic Weld Racing Rod Lite wheels wear spinners and 25x7.5R15 front and 31x18.5-15 rear Hoosier tires.
This awesome Chevy coupe is a great show and go cruiser that'll make you smile every time you drive it. Call today!
