NICELY BUILT 355CI W/ DART HEADS, MUNCIE M-21 4 SPEED, UNDERDASH A/C, SWEET!

The best customs are always those where the modifications are almost invisible and where it takes a trained eye to spot the upgrades. This 1957 Chevy 210 2-door post sedan is a great example, with a few tricks up its sleeve, modern horsepower, and a fantastic authentic color combination.

Code 810 Larkspur Blue is this car's original color, and on a '57 Chevy, keeping it period appropriate is always a smart move. But a car that looks this appealing only comes from getting the bodywork exactly right, and the guys who built this one obviously understood that. The flanks are super-slick, aided by hours and hours of laborious hand sanding and fitting, but it pays off with a very clean look. Yes, the great Bel Air trim and anodized side panels have been added, and all of it looks dazzling against the beautiful light blue paint. Gaps are excellent all around, and someone clearly spent extra time getting the doors and hood to fit as well as they did. The India Ivory top is a nice touch, again a nod to the 1950s sensibilities and it's how this car was originally delivered. All the trim was restored and reinstalled, nothing was shaved, and on a 1957 Chevrolet wears all that lovely chrome like ... Please ask for the full description.

All the trim was restored and reinstalled, nothing was shaved, and on a 1957 Chevrolet wears all that lovely chrome like jewelry.

Climb inside and you'll find a re-imagined interior done in a pattern that looks suitably 1950s in style, but with a twist. The bucket seats are from a 1964 Impala, but they're wrapped in correct 1957 fabrics and vinyl in a period pattern, and it totally works to deliver the kind of punch that '57 Chevys are known for. The original dashboard is intact, but the gauges themselves are modern replacements from Classic Instruments that keep an eye on all the vital functions thanks to some clever packaging. They're framed by a billet steering wheel in excellent condition, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo has been fitted in the stock location. Under-dash A/C is done just the way it might have been back in the day, so it looks right and works extremely well thanks to modern hardware working behind the scenes. And yes, that's a familiar Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission poking out of the transmission tunnel, giving this car a bit of a performance attitude. On the other hand, the trunk is completely stock, with a rubber mat, spare, and jack assembly, as well as the relocated Optima battery.

The extremely tidy engine bay houses a sweet-running 355 cubic inch small block V8 that has an updated look with lots of shiny parts to make it sparkle. The engine has been completely rebuilt and features Dart heads, an Edelbrock aluminum intake and matching 4-barrel carburetor, and a big aluminum radiator up front. Power brakes and a dual-reservoir master cylinder are a big safety upgrade, and a modern serpentine belt drive for the accessories is quiet and effective. Sanderson headers feed a great-sounding Magnaflow stainless exhaust system and with Heidt's drop spindles up front, it has a neat stance. In back, there's a familiar GM 10-bolt rear end from a GMC Syclone truck with 3.70 gears inside on a Posi limited slip. Wheels are Billet Specialties pieces that look exactly right wearing 225/45/17 front and 255/50/17 rear Nitto radials.

This is a very cool '57 with a few custom touches that can be driven cross-country any time. Does it get better than that? Call today.
