SHOW QUALITY SAPHIRE BLUE PAINT, 350 CI V8, 700R4, POWER STEERING & BRAKES!!

Before we had compact pickups, we had full-sized rigs like this 1970 Chevrolet C10 step-side. The closest thing to a sports truck at the time, it packed muscle car horsepower and heavy duty utility into a compact, attractive body that is so popular that automakers are still building step-sides today.

Finished in BMW Sapphire Blue, this truck was repainted by a BMW dealership, and the workmanship is outstanding, as you'd expect. Short wheelbase, regular cab, with a step-side bed is perhaps the most attractive combination on an early pickup, combining the modern cab with a very retro-appearing bed design that probably dates to the '50s. With bulging rear fenders and fat tires underneath, the truck has a sporty attitude, and the near-flawless paint only enhances an already awesome look. Yes, the paint really is as nice as it looks, with outstanding prep and no signs of rust repair underneath, and if you want a truck that attracts attention, this is certainly it. All the panels line up well, the doors fit properly, and the bed sports a gorgeous wooden floor and sides protected by an immaculately-applied spray-in bedliner. The list of new equipment includes both bumpers, the grille and headlight bezels, and all the marker lights, truly making it look like a new truck.

Black vinyl duplicates the original look, but the upscale pattern on the seat helps soften the truck's blue-collar image. The dash has been painted to match the body, black carpets help improve noise insulation, with padded door panels giving this truck a more upscale feel than it had when it was new. A new dash pad protects the instrument panel, which is full of arguably the most attractive factory gauges ever created, and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo has been fitted into the original opening in the dash. Look carefully at things like the edges of the doors and the sills (which are new), and you'll not only find no trace of rust or previous damage, but more perfectly applied iridescent blue paint. Someone clearly sweated the small stuff on this truck.

The rumbling V8 under the hood is a 350 cubic inch Chevy that looks right at home in the C10's cavernous engine bay. Horsepower enhancement is compliments of an Offenhauser intake, Edelbrock carb, and an HEI ignition to light the fires. Finished in authentic Chevy Orange against satin black inner fenders and firewall, it looks factory correct and runs beautifully. It's not too far removed from stock, so you know it's both reliable and easy to repair, although the long-tube headers and Flowmaster mufflers give it a distinctly high-performance sound. Underneath, it's clean and solid, and you might be surprised to see that even in 1970, the bed floor was still wood. The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic, so cruising is effortless and fuel economy is actually decent, while out back there's a rugged 12-bolt hanging on original coil springs. Glittering polished aluminum wheels add a lot of eye appeal and spin 255/70/15 white-letter radials.

Call this one a fantastic vintage truck that'll have no trouble finding a new home. We sell a lot of these, but not many are this nice. Call today!
