REBUILT 292 CI Y-BLOCK, 1800 HOURS IN RESTO, RHINO-LINER IN BED, FRESH PAINT!!

This 1964 Ford F100 is an honest, dependable truck that's been nicely restored, always welcome at shows, and can still do a hard day's work when called to duty.

Bright red paint this nice is bound to attract attention wherever this truck goes, and it's easy to see how good the workmanship is simply by looking down the sides of the body. While trucks were often used and abused, this one either led a virtuous life or had someone spend a ton of time and effort getting it back into shape, because it's very impressive (actually, it's the latter, with more than 1800 hours tied up in the restoration). The paint is new but don't let that put you off, because there's nothing to hide underneath, just clean, straight sheetmetal that looks better than ever. There's a decent amount of brightwork on this particular truck, with the grille and bumpers are painted shined up for show, and the stainless trim along the sides really dresses the old girl up. The bed looks almost new and has been sprayed with fresh Rhino-liner material, so it'll look this good practically forever.

The gray interior is a nice contrast to the red body, and shows a little flair that's picked up by the red instrument panel and ... Please ask for the full description.

The gray interior is a nice contrast to the red body, and shows a little flair that's picked up by the red instrument panel and doors. The vinyl-covered bench seat is in great shape with no splits or tears, and when you're perched up there, you have a commanding view of the road. The dashboard is basic, but all the original gauges are fully functional, and the red steering wheel is fashionably dressed for the period with a rim-blow horn. Three-on-the-tree shifting makes the most of the engine's power band, and takes you back to another era-when was the last time you drove such a vehicle? The only noteworthy upgrade is a modern AM/FM/cassette radio, which probably replaces a block-off plate or, at best, an AM piece that was the height of truck entertainment in 1964. The floors are covered in a rubber mat that make sweeping out the passenger compartment painless, with accessory "Tweety" mats for decoration.

Power comes from Ford's rugged and reliable 292 cubic inch Y-block V8 that has less than 500 miles on the rebuild. The V8 makes great torque and is surprisingly smooth for a truck engine, and with well-matched gears in the transmission, keeps up with traffic without any issues. It is planted in a clean, well-maintained engine bay, and wears stylish orange valve covers atop the black engine. That wild exhaust setup is actually factory-issue, and has a pleasant V8 burble from the single tailpipe out back. Designed for work, the rear end isn't geared for high-speed cruising, but it will roll at 65 MPH without any problems, and it'll do it with a bed full of 2x4s without complaint. The front suspension is a rigid axle, which lived under pickups for decades. I'm also pleased to see that the original steel wheels and hubcaps are intact, wearing recent 235/75/15 blackwall radials that look just right.

With restoration receipts and photos, there's no denying that someone went all-out on this Ford. The upside is that you can enjoy the fruits of his labor for a fraction of the price. Call today!
