Description

HENRY FORD STEEL, 4 WHEEL DISC, POWER SEATS, R134 A/C, FORD 289 CI, RACK N PINIO

This 1934 Ford Tudor sedan is one of those hot rods everyone can agree is cool. With that ultra-cool shape, 4-seat practicality, and a sweet-running 289 under the hood (yeah, a Ford in a Ford-finally!), it's the kind of rod you can drive and enjoy without worries and that will still bring home a trophy or two at shows.

The body is steel and the car was built by Duffy's in Iowa, and if you've seen their work lately, you know that it's some of the nicest stuff in the industry. The '34 Ford is one of the most exceptional designs of the period and there's just no way to make one look bad, but this one really goes above and beyond. Beautifully finished in Claret Red that is from an early '90s Chrysler color palette, plus those hand-painted flames in the traditional manner, it looks like the rod you've always dreamed about. Up front there's a stock hood with louvered sides, and I especially like the proper 1934 equipment like the greyhound hood ornament and cowl lights. The door handles remain intact, the roof hasn't been chopped, the running boards are still wrapped in rubber, and the twin taillights out back are stock save for the blue dot lenses. Honestly, you really can't improve on the beauty that is a 1934 Ford, and these guys wisely left the important stuff alone. High quality workmanship is evident throughout, with great body gaps, excellent fit, and a brilliant shine on the paint that couldn't have been cheap or easy to achieve.

Tan tweed is the dominant theme inside, where a pair of front buckets and a cozy rear bench make this a rod that can take the whole family cross-country. The door panels are beautifully sculpted works of art and you'll note that almost every surface inside has been wrapped in matching upholstery. The dash has been fitted with an array of vintage-looking Stewart-Warner instruments, with eyeball vents for the A/C and an AM/FM/CD stereo system in a special overhead console. Power seats and a tilt column make it quite easy to spend time behind the wheel and after you sample how well it drives, you may never want to get out.

Built in 2005, the worked-over 289 under the hood makes plenty of power thanks to 302 heads, an Edelbrock carb and intake, and a Ford Motorsport B303 camshaft. Powerful, reliable, and easy to service, it is exactly the powerplant you want in your rod, particularly if it's a Ford. Service access is excellent, with all the accessories mounted tight to the block, and yes, it looks great wearing Cobra valve covers and a billet air cleaner. Underneath, the chassis was finished to match the body and offers things like tubular A-arms, rack-and-pinion steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, and a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. The rear is a very trick independent setup with coilovers and a transverse leaf spring just above the custom fabricated dual exhaust system. Staggered Torque Thrusts give it an aggressive rake, especially with those 195/70/14 front and 215/75/15 rear tires.

Sure, you could build your own and in a few years and 50 or 70 thousand dollars later you could have a car this cool. Or you could buy this one and start having fun immediately. The choice is easy. Call today!
