It's fun to look at old vehicles and think about how you would have ordered them back in the day if you'd had the opportunity. For this 1972 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne Super pickup, it's outfitted quite nicely and offers a few upgrades that are very welcome today, including an overdrive transmission.

The two-tone green and white color combination is how this one came from the factory, albeit recently and professionally repainted. The final look is extremely impressive and it's easy to imagine this handsome pickup sitting on the showroom floor almost as it is. The long bed gives the C10 near-ideal proportions and includes a big helping of utility, but also demands a lot of work to get the 8-foot-long bed sides super straight. Fortunately, everyone did their homework and the results are quite nice, with a deep gloss and ripple-free bodywork that you'll be proud to show off. Using the original colors also means that there are no unsightly masking lines or overspray where it doesn't belong, and everything fits together very well. Those long bed rails are a useful addition to the bed, which also features a rubber mat, and kitchy 1970s woodgrained trim along the rockers and on the tailgate is in ...

Those long bed rails are a useful addition to the bed, which also features a rubber mat, and kitchy 1970s woodgrained trim along the rockers and on the tailgate is in excellent shape. A bright chrome front bumper, a tight egg crate grille, and a rather slick rear roll pan round out this very attractive pickup.

Bucket seats in a pickup is incredibly rare, but if you saw this setup in the brochure, that's how you would have ordered it, right? New seat covers with factory-like tooling (I guess for the western flavor Chevy was aiming for with the Cheyenne) are quite attractive and show no wear, and the center console offers useful storage. Color-coordinated carpets, door panels, and dash pad soften the interior and a few woodgrained accents reflect the upscale mission of this particular truck. Gorgeous gauges, including a rare factory tachometer, look recently restored and the steering wheel is remarkably nice for 1972. This truck is equipped with factory A/C, always a welcome option, along with an Alpine AM/FM/cassette stereo with matching speakers in the door panels and a graphic equalizer under the dash. You already know I'm a fan of sliding rear windows on pickup trucks, another useful and appealing option that I would have checked off back in 1972.

The 350 cubic inch V8 was rebuilt about 3500 miles ago and has a few tweaks to make it more muscular than it was originally. Of course there's a 4-barrel carb atop an aluminum intake, and aluminum Corvette valve covers with Chevy Orange paint makes a hi-performance statement when you open the hood. Please take a moment to note how smooth and even the satin black engine bay paint is, including the inner fenders and underside of the hood, suggesting this has always been a very clean truck. The original transmission was dumped in favor of a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive, which makes highway cruising effortless without sacrificing its ability to work as a truck. Long-tube headers and a very cool custom dual exhaust system tucked up tight next to the frame gives it a wonderful muscle car sound. The only noticeable non-stock part of the truck is the rolling stock, which consists of aluminum American Racing wheels and fat 275/60/15 Goodyear radials.

An ultra-clean truck with a very expensive restoration on top, this Chevy delivers a vintage experience just the way you would have ordered it yourself. Call today!
