FRESH 350 CRATE, HORSESHOE SHIFTER W/CONSOLE, BUCKETS, BLACK ON BLACK, A/C!

It's no surprise that after all these years nobody gets tired of Tuxedo Black Chevelle SS coupes, and the fact is, these are flat-out AWESOME cars in almost every way. There's a reason they sell so quickly, and this beautiful 1971 coupe with a fresh crate motor is an excellent example of why.

The great thing about Chevelles is that they evolved, so each year looked a little different from the year before, but the intrinsic goodness of the car never varied. Personally, I prefer the single-headlight '71 over the quad headlight '70 models, and this car has all the right pieces to make it a crowd-pleaser at the next cruise night. With only 5912 miles on the build, it still looks quite fresh all around, with bodywork good enough to wear the black paint without any excuses. And I have to admit that no other color looks as good on one of these cars as black with white SS stripes (code 19 Tuxedo Black is this car's original color, by the way). The blacked-out SS grille looks fantastic and bright pieces like the bumper and fender trim add some contrast. Hood pins, SS badges, tinted windows, and two big exhaust pipes out back do their part to ensure that nobody mistakes this for your average ... Please ask for the full description.

Hood pins, SS badges, tinted windows, and two big exhaust pipes out back do their part to ensure that nobody mistakes this for your average grocery-getter.

The interior was done right, too, complete with buckets, a trick horseshoe shifter, and a console-all the goodies you want in your heavy cruiser. Like the exterior, the trim is extremely well done and looks correct, from the tight-fitting seat covers to the door panels that still look new. It shows very little wear, mostly because this GM vinyl wears like granite, but also because someone has been careful with it. A modern AM/FM/CD stereo head unit lives in its own custom housing just ahead of the center console, powering speakers throughout the interior plus a 12-inch subwoofer in the trunk, so it sounds awesome. All the original gauges show bright pointers and clear markings and the steering wheel is a correct 3-spoke unit that looks almost new. Power windows, factory A/C, and an aftermarket set of remote-actuated power locks all add value and functionality. And speaking of the trunk, it includes a full-sized spare bias-ply tire that looks entirely appropriate in this early '70s cruiser.

The 350 cubic inch crate motor was installed just 2000 miles ago and is still under warranty. It moves the big A-body with ease and features some smart upgrades like an HEI ignition system, a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and a set of long-tube headers to really let the small block breathe. A few chrome pieces, including the air cleaner and valve covers, help it stand out in the all-black engine bay, and thanks to an R134a upgrade, the A/C should be easy to maintain in the future. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission powers a 12-bolt rear, which also features an aftermarket rear sway bar to tighten up the handling. The chassis is clean, the exhaust system sounds right, there's a recent gas tank out back, and classic SS wheels wearing BFG radials are a classic look that never fails.

So while you'd think that everyone who wants a big, black Chevelle SS already has one, but that's just not the case. Although there's no factory build sheet to go with this one, there's no doubt that whatever it was born as, it has all the right moves today. With all the right options and bulletproof mechanicals, this is a Chevelle that can truly be enjoyed every day. Call today!
