PRO BUILT 383 STROKER V8, 700R4, PB W/ 4 WHEEL DISC, STRONG RUNNING REPLICA!

Austin-Healey prices are skyrocketing, but if you like the look and need something more affordable, then this potent Mark III replica is a solid choice. Inspired by some of the other great Anglo-American hybrids, it sports the ideal British sports car look backed by the ferocity of a small block Chevy stroker motor.

At a glance, this sucker's pretty accurate. From the hood scoop to the trapezoidal grille to the gently rounded rear, it has a look any car guy can spot a mile away. It's fiberglass, of course, and they took a few liberties with the shape in the name of performance, giving it wider fender flares to house the oversized rubber needed by that big V8. The white bodywork is actually the gelcoat on the fiberglass, and it looks pretty good as-is. The body's build quality is very good, with clean bodywork that obviously had a lot of prep time and good gaps that are the product of careful work at the factory. It could be easily scuffed and finished in your choice of colors, but this is a low-maintenance solution that's quite durable and very presentable. Chrome bumpers, those cool fender-mounted rear-view mirrors, and Lucas-style taillights out back effectively boost the illusion that ... Please ask for the full description.

Chrome bumpers, those cool fender-mounted rear-view mirrors, and Lucas-style taillights out back effectively boost the illusion that this is a vintage British sportster.

Tan buckets piped in dark green make for a wonderfully vintage-looking interior. Complemented by door panels trimmed to match and black carpets, they got the basics right in this replica. The dashboard is real wood with a twin-cockpit feel and a few modern amenities to make it more user-friendly than an original. The Grant GT wheel feels substantial and the round-faced Auto Meter gauges are easy to see thanks to a tilt steering column. OK, so there weren't any automatic-equipped Healeys built back in the '50s and '60s, but it does make this a relaxed cruiser that'll go anywhere without making a fuss and it's supremely comfortable in ways that the original isn't. There's an effective heating system, for example, plus power windows, as well as a modern AM/FM/CD stereo that sounds great. A chrome roll bar adds stiffness to the chassis and looks racy, yet fits neatly under the tan convertible top, which is included with the car. There's also a reasonably-sized trunk that'll handle a few overnight bags even with a spare tire and jack assembly stowed inside.

A small block Chevy V8 punched out to 383 cubic inches by the pros at Wheeler Motorsports means this cool little roadster is more akin to a Cobra than a British aristocrat. It barks to life with that characteristic small block sound and exhales through a pair of mellow mufflers using chrome tips under the bumper for a more authentic look. The engine is brightly detailed with lots of chrome and aluminum, including the aluminum radiator shroud that makes it truly sparkle. A 750 Holley feeds an Edelbrock intake and a set of Canfield heads, the fires are lit by a new MSD HEI ignition system. The fit is tidy and the small block moves the lightweight car with such effortless ease that you'll probably have trouble keeping your foot out of those endless reserves of torque. The 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission always seems to be on its toes and in the right gear, and 3.73 cogs in the Ford 8.8 rear end mean acceleration is available at any speed. Shiny aluminum wheels add a racy touch and wear fat 215/65/15 front and 245/60/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials.

The point of a replica isn't to exactly duplicate another car, but rather to create something new that borrows great elements from other vehicles, and nothing succeeds like lots of power in a 2-seat sports car. Call today!
