454 CI REST-MOD, 4-SPEED WITH CONSOLE, BLACK ON BLACK, BOSS STAGGERED STANCE!

This 1968 Camaro is big in every sense of the word: big engine, big wheels, and big shine. Cloaked in sinister black paint and packing 454 cubic inches, there's no way to be subtle in this machine, but then again, why would you want to?

Not all fast cars look fast, but this one definitely delivers on the promises made by the sleek bodywork. Recent paint looks great and you can see just in the reflections that there's a lot of overtime wrapped up in this one. A cowl-induction hood adds to the menacing look along with front and rear spoilers and SS stripes, all making for a very formidable package. Good gaps and excellent prep work mean that this car has a quality look that won't be missed at car shows, although you shouldn't be afraid to drive it, either. It does wear SS badges, along with a pair of '396' emblems on the front fenders, so that should be plenty of warning for the unwary, especially with that glossy black paint staring them down. Check out the reflections in its surface, which are clear and distortion-free, all hallmarks of careful workmanship and a great final polish. Chrome bumpers and polished stainless add contrast and keep it fairly stock-looking for the most part, which ... Please ask for the full description.

Chrome bumpers and polished stainless add contrast and keep it fairly stock-looking for the most part, which is only a good thing when it comes to first-generation F-bodies.

The interior is every bit as fresh as the bodywork with new pieces throughout. Black deluxe seat covers with matching door panels work with new carpets and a custom steering wheel to give this OEM interior a little bit of kick. A center console wears wood veneer to warm things up a little bit and that long Hurst shifter is linked to a 4-speed manual, so you can really snap off some impressively quick shifts. The original instruments look to be in very good order with cool stainless faces and bright orange needles, and they're joined by a set of Sunpro auxiliary gauges under the center stack. A digital AM/FM stereo radio is a neat installation, and even uses a printed dial on its face to add authenticity. The back seat was reupholstered as well and looks completely unused and the trunk is neatly finished with spatter paint for an OEM look.

But all this is just a prelude to the big block under the hood. Dressed like it could have been built by the factory, this 454 cubic inch V8 gives this early Camaro the kind of raw power that only the lucky guys with COPO Camaros were able to experience. An Edelbrock intake and carburetor up top are obvious upgrades, but the chrome valve covers look like the factory preferred to do it with big block cars. The workmanship is quite tidy with great attention to detail everywhere you look, and surprisingly, the big block offers reasonably good service access as well. Power steering and brakes are welcome additions when you have a big chunk of iron over the front wheels, and with long-tube headers and Flowmaster mufflers, you probably aren't going to be able to keep your foot off the loud pedal. The underside is quite nicely finished with a new gas tank and clean components throughout, and the stance is exactly right thanks to gorgeous Boss Motorsport wheels with 235/40/18 front and 265/35/20 rear performance radials.

This is a really impressive car in a lot of ways, and it's obvious that the build didn't cut any corners. Ferociously fast, you shouldn't allow its good looks to keep you off the streets. Call today!
