UNBELIEVABLY PRESERVED, WELL-DOCUMENTED, RARE COLOR COMBO, LOW MILEAGE Z28!!

Another spectacular survivor second-gen Camaro in an unusual color, this 1979 Z/28 is highly detailed, completely stock, and beautifully preserved. With these cars heating up in the market, the ones at the top of every collector's wish list are going to be authentic, correct, matching-numbers, low-mileage cars just like this.

Repainted in 2003, this Camaro has a spectacular factory-correct look that looks highly authentic in every possible way. The original light blue paint was replicated using modern materials and has that soft metallic glow that typifies cars of the period, but just between you and me, there's just no way cars this shiny were rolling of a GM assembly line in 1979. But as an untouched, low-mileage car, you know that the doors fit right, the sheetmetal is super straight, and if there were any “factory” flaws, they've been corrected to make this one of the tidiest Zs we've seen in months. The decals were, of course, replicated and reinstalled and even after 11 years, they still have bright colors and no peeling or checking, so they were the high-quality versions. Urethane bumpers were a big part of the late Z/28's look, and they haven't cracked with age or been baked by the ... Please ask for the full description.

But as an untouched, low-mileage car, you know that the doors fit right, the sheetmetal is super straight, and if there were any "factory" flaws, they've been corrected to make this one of the tidiest Zs we've seen in months. The decals were, of course, replicated and reinstalled and even after 11 years, they still have bright colors and no peeling or checking, so they were the high-quality versions. Urethane bumpers were a big part of the late Z/28's look, and they haven't cracked with age or been baked by the sun, and unlike when it was new, the bumpers are actually the same color as the body.

The bright, airy light blue cloth interior is a far cry from the dark vinyl caves you see in so many Camaros of this vintage. A subtle plaid pattern on the fabric inserts lends a sophisticated look to the performance-oriented Z, and there's little doubt that this is the original upholstery. The driver's seat shows some very minor signs of age and use, but the remainder of the interior is pretty much as the factory delivered it 35 years ago. All-original gauges in a wood applique dashboard offer a fairly comprehensive view of the engine's goings-on, while the radio has been replaced at some point with a block-off plate. This Z/28 is fairly unusual in that it is a very low-option model, which may seem anachronistic to a collector, but it's important to remember that unusual features are a big part of these cars' appeal. T-tops are very welcome, however, and are a great alternative to this car's more pricey drop-top siblings. Even the trunk is immaculately preserved, including an original space-saver spare that appears to have never been used.

You won't find many 1979 Camaros with cleaner engine bays, and despite the 350 cubic inch V8 being the most mod-friendly powerplant in the universe, this one is pretty much stock. Cleaned, painted, and fully detailed, it looks wonderful with its corporate blue paint, big shine air cleaner, and authentic details like the tower hose clamps. Finishes and materials are correct and this car has obviously been properly stored because all the plated parts remain in excellent condition. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and 10-bolt rear end with 3.42 gears inside, so performance is far more entertaining than you'd expect for 1979. The underside is every bit as correct as the bodywork, and is authentic right down to the catalytic converter. Attractive alloy wheels look awesome against the light blue paint and carry 255/60/15 Goodyear Eagle radials.

From the country's premier collection of Z/28 Camaros, this 1979 Z includes a ton of documentation including a factory build sheet, warranty card, owner's manual, and a reproduction window sticker, making it an investment-grade F-body that's still shockingly affordable. Call today!
