For some reason, the Mercedes engineers decided that the transmission should start in second gear, so it feels smooth around town, but where this car really shines is on the open road where you can hustle just a little bit. It's not a racer, but it feels competent and buttoned-down under any circumstances and with the open-air experience, it makes for a first-class ride. The engine bay is very tidy and shows signs of regular maintenance, critical on a car as complex as this, and the undercarriage shows what you get from storing the car out of the elements; it's really nice! Four-wheel disc brakes and gorgeous alloy wheels are standard, and it now carries 195/65/15 Michelin radials at all four corners.
