258 I6, 5-SPEED, FRESH RESTO, PAINT, & INTERIOR, HARD-TOP, FRONT DISC, PS, 4X4!!

If you want a nice vintage Jeep that you can drive every day, you won't find many nicer than this 1985 Jeep CJ7. With recent paint, rebuilt mechanicals, a brand new interior, and that unbeatable Jeep go-anywhere capability, this is one 4x4 that's so fun to drive that you'll look forward to your commute to work Monday morning.

The Sahara Tan paint looks exactly right on this CJ7, and with a fresh wet sand and buff, it shines like no 1985 production vehicle ever could. The color is quite correct for the period and with a fresh stripe package, looks both subtle and sporty at the same time. The frame-on restoration was completed about six years ago and it probably hasn't seen much use since then, and with the recent work, it looks and feels almost new. The removable hardtop was repainted as well, contrasting nicely with the bodywork, and it offers steel doors with windows that roll up smoothly, so it seals up far better than most Jeeps of the era. Fresh chrome, including the grille and mirrors, new fender flares, and a heavy-duty spare tire rack to hold the matching fifth wheel give it a very finished look.

As I said, everything inside is new. High-back bucket seats carry reproduction seat ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

High-back bucket seats carry reproduction seat covers that look fantastic, the entire tub was covered with spray-in bedliner material for hose-it-out practicality, and there's a center console with cup holders to make it easy to get comfortable. The gauges are all new, including the tachometer strapped to the steering column, which is topped by a brand new custom wheel. A few shiny chrome pieces brighten the interior and all the knobs and switches were replaced so it's reliable. The only thing that wasn't touched was the back seat, which is probably original, but offers awesome proof that this Jeep has always been in first-class condition. An AM/FM/iPod stereo system was added during the recent freshening so you can take your favorite music with you just about anywhere.

You already know that the 258 cubic inch inline-six is the engine you want in your CJ, and this one was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago, so it's still quite fresh. The engine bay is quite tidy and there's little evidence that this Jeep was abused off-road. Instead, it appears to have led a good life as a fair-weather toy and when it was rebuilt, they wisely chose to keep it mostly original. The brakes were recently rebuilt, including a fresh master cylinder, and both the 5-speed manual transmission (with very desirable overdrive) and the 2-speed transfer case were rebuilt when the engine was. The undercarriage is quite clean, protected by a layer of undercoating that makes getting dirty no big deal, and there's a brand new exhaust system with catalytic converter, so it runs and drives like it should. A 2.5-inch lift kit with new shocks was added a few months ago, and it's worth noting that it still rides and handles like a stocker. New 15-inch Mickey Thompson wheels and 33x12.50-15 Firestone Destination off-road radials look awesome and give it the perfect off-road stance.

Coming from a long-time Jeep enthusiast, this CJ7 blends just the right amount of restoration and modification to create a wonderful old Jeep that doesn't feel ancient, but doesn't feel modern, either; the perfect combination. Call today!
