GORGEOUS FRESH BUILD W/ TONS OF FEATURES! 350 V8, AUTO, A/C, PS, PWR DISCS, WOW!

If you've been planning on building an old Chevy pickup, you should probably just buy this 1950 Chevrolet 3100 instead. An exquisite, fresh, frame off build that features an awesome color combination, a strong running V8, and all the luxury amenities, it's exactly the way you'd do it for about half the price of building your own to this level. What's holding you back?

The Advance Design pickups are probably even more popular today than when they were new, and with the market's new-found interest in vintage haulers, they're getting harder to find by the day. The best ones preserve all that's great about the original design and simply update the hardware underneath, and they totally nailed it with this one. The Midnight Blue paint keeps it looking simple, as if it could still head out into the back 40 and get the job done, and I think that's a big part of the appeal. Finish quality is spectacular, with a clean bodywork and paint that is so deep and rich that we're hard-pressed to find any flaws at all. It's all steel, no fiberglass reproduction parts here, and the fit of the various pieces and parts is exacting, so it feels carefully built. Keeping all the chrome and stainless trim is a big ... Keeping all the chrome and stainless trim is a big plus, giving this truck an old-fashioned look that's even more appealing with the subtle modifications. The warmly finished wooden bed is so beautiful that it's probably done hauling heavy gear, but you can't argue with the way it dresses up the old hauler. And those classic taillights are now filled with LEDs for a slightly high-tech look and improved visibility.

Elegance is the name of the game inside, and the handsomely appointed leather interior of this pickup is light years nicer than it was originally. That might be a simple bench seat, but it's wearing a brand new leather upholstery with a period look and custom door panels that help soften the interior a bit from the original steel pieces. Matching tan carpets and a fully insulated cab help control noise and heat and really make it feel plush, especially with the matching floor mats. Cream-faced gauges from Classic Instruments fit into the original holes in the dash, so no cutting was required to get that trick look and a late-model tilt column and billet steering wheel dress it up smartly. A modern A/C system was discreetly tucked under the dash and there's an AM/FM stereo cleverly hidden with the original slot. It's highly finished and refined, making this the kind of truck you're going to have a hard time resisting on the next sunny day.

A freshly rebuilt 350 slots right into the old truck's engine bay, giving it a far more useful powerband for today's traffic than the original six. It's a 4-bolt main block topped by aluminum heads, a Demon 4-barrel carb, Weiand intake manifold, and a Lunati camshaft, so it runs and drives superbly. A few well-chosen chrome and aluminum pieces make it look dressed up but not over-done. Upgrades like power rack-and-pinion steering and 4-wheel disc brakes, not to mention a Heidts front clip with tubular control arms and rear TCI coil overs make this Chevy feel far more modern and capable. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission spins a Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.70 gears, so it has the truck equipment you might need. A custom exhaust system with stainless headers and throaty mufflers give it a proper hot rod soundtrack. Obviously the stance was modified a bit with two inch dropped spindles and it really hunkers down over those staggered Torque Thrust wheels, which wear 215/70/15 front and 225/75/15 rear blackwall radials to give it the perfect look that's just a little bit hot-rod.
