VERY NICE T/A TRIBUTE, RAM AIR 400 CID V8, AUTO, RALLY II WHEELS, GREAT DEAL!

If you're a Pontiac fan, the Holy Grail of early F-bodies is the first-year Trans Am. With originals already costing more than a house, perhaps this exceptionally well-done tribute will satisfy your vintage road racing jones.

The look is unmistakable and it has been neatly captured here in correct Cameo White with proper Tyrol Blue stripes that stretch over the Ram Air hood and under the special Trans Am rear spoiler. Other T/A-only goodies include the fiberglass “air extractors” on the front fenders and the blacked-out center grille area, so anyone spotting this particular Firebird at a show will definitely be doing a double-take. Although the work is a few years old, it remains in very good condition and you can see, even in photos, how good the final assembly was, with even gaps and tight alignment from panel to panel, which is especially critical given the sharp fender crease that stretches into the doors. The body-colored nose cone is accented by a chrome grille surround, and out back the Tyrol Blue tail panel frames a set of correct taillights above a brightly chromed bumper. Reproduction “Trans Am” and “Ram Air” decals have been installed in all the right places, so the illusion is ... Please ask for the full description.

Other T/A-only goodies include the fiberglass "air extractors" on the front fenders and the blacked-out center grille area, so anyone spotting this particular Firebird at a show will definitely be doing a double-take. Reproduction "Trans Am" and "Ram Air" decals have been installed in all the right places, so the illusion is extremely convincing at a glance.

As strange as it may seem, you could definitely get an automatic transmission in your Trans Am, with 114 of the original 697 being equipped with the TH400 like this car. The black buckets were also standard equipment, even in the T/A, and they've been freshened with seat covers front and rear, and perhaps even carpets and door panels, which are in very good condition. Trans Am experts will note that the wheel is a standard Firebird piece and not the usual Trans Am wood-rimmed piece, but otherwise the illusion is quite convincing. Auxiliary gauges have been installed under the dash and just above the center console, which does feature Pontiac's usual burled walnut woodgrain that remains in great shape without the usual fading. An AM/FM radio in the dash takes the place of the original unit and probably sounds a lot better and the trunk has been correctly finished with a fresh mat and full-sized spare with matching cover.

All Trans Ams were powered by Pontiac's legendary 400 cubic inch V8 with Ram Air induction (either III or IV). Topped by a Rochester 4-barrel carburetor and finished in Pontiac Turquoise, this engine bay shows off its Pontiac DNA, although upgrades like the Edelbrock intake and long-tube headers are certainly welcome horsepower upgrades. Chrome valve covers and an open element air cleaner with a reproduction decal add a bit of brightwork, and while it's not totally authentic, nobody will notice when you're out cruising and it feels extremely strong on the roll. The undercarriage isn't detailed for show, but it is in good shape with a fresh dual exhaust system that cackles and burbles on the overrun. Rallye II wheels were not standard on the Trans Am, but almost every single one was ordered with them, so they look right on this tribute, especially wrapped in 245/60/14 white-letter radials.

Fast and fun, this tribute delivers 90% of the Trans Am experience for a fraction of the price. If you like the look, you're going to love this car! Call today!
