CONTEMPORARY COBRA, 427 SIDE OILER, 4-SPEED MANUAL, ONLY 2,316 MILE SINCE BUILT!

Not all Cobra replicas are created equal. Take, for example, this Contemporary Cobra, which is widely regarded as one of the most accurate Cobra replicas you can buy, from the round-tube chassis to the exacting proportions of the body. And if you add a 427 side-oiler like the one in this car, you'll end up with a car that very realistically duplicates the original in all the important ways, including the coveted Shelby American nameplate with CCX number.

Midnight Blue looks sinister when it's wrapped around the luscious curves of a Cobra roadster. Although it's fiberglass, the detailing on this one is extremely compelling, particularly the hood with its exposed rivets and functional hood scoop. Finish quality is exceptionally good, and this car has spent most of its life in a bubble, securely stored in a near-perfect environment. As a result, it has collected a bunch of trophies just for being pretty and looks like it should have an extra zero on its price tag. Detailing is, of course, exacting, from the frame-mounted chrome roll bar for the driver to the jacking stubs fore and aft to the butch-looking stainless side pipes that look race-ready. And, of course, there's a real sense of pride ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

And, of course, there's a real sense of pride in driving a Cobra with '427' badges on the side that aren't just for show.

The impressive authenticity continues inside with Connolly leather buckets that wrap around and hug you in place and matching door panels with map pockets made of the same fragrant hides. That handsome steering wheel accurately re-creates the original, but it's actually from LaCarrera and is hand-built using marine Mahogany-nice! Correct Smiths gauges, including the reverse-rotation speedometer add to the 1965 look and feel and this Cobra does just fine without a radio, thank you very much. The forward-canted shifter links to a 4-speed Toploader and the sound of that transmission alone will make gearheads swoon. AC-logo pedals, racing harnesses, and a plain but neatly finished trunk all add to the authentic vibe.

Really, if you're going to build a Cobra, why not put an authentic motor in it? The 427 side-oiler in this car cranks out a real-world 500 horsepower thanks to good stuff like a Cobra Jet crank and rods, a Crower valvetrain, and a pair of Holley double-pumpers on top of a medium-rise intake. Finned aluminum valve covers and a correct expansion tank add to the vintage look, and this sucker bucks, snarls, and cackles like the real thing. There's a lot of polished aluminum under the hood that adds a show car quality to the entire presentation, and it's tuned to run on pump gas despite the 11:1 compression. The aforementioned Toploader 4-speed feeds a trick Salisbury rear end complete with 3.54 gears and inboard disc brakes, while the front suspension is made up of elegant aluminum A-arms that are works of art all by themselves. For safety, there's a Lakewood scattershield for the heavy-duty MacLeod clutch. Pin-drive Halibrand wheels don't just look like the originals, and they wear 235/60/15 front and 295/50/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials that do a pretty good job of making it sit right.

With a ton of trophy wins behind it, this fantastic Cobra cost a fortune to build. If you appreciate that level of commitment and detail, then this is the Cobra you should put in your garage. Call now!
