Description

SHOW QUALITY, BUILT 302 V8, 4-SPEED MANUAL, PS, POWER DISC , JAGUAR POWER SEATS!

This 1962 Ford F100 pickup is just full of surprises. Thoughtfully customized, it is an unusual choice that perhaps has been overlooked for too long, because it looks absolutely awesome! Trick details abound, and with a 302 under the hood and a gorgeous oak bed out back, it really is like having your cake and eating it too.

The best view on this truck is the rear 3/4 shot, which shows off the wedge-shaped body detailing to great effect. Usually these trucks are refrigerator white or some other non-descript color, so when it's really dressed up, you start to notice just how much effort went into the styling. Dig the flared fenders and the ultra-trick tailgate with recessed handles on the sides and those taillights that are framed by the same flared bodywork that defines the sides. Up close, there are lots of little tricks like shaved emblems, fog lamps integrated into the front bumper, and a custom rear roll pan that incorporates a pair of matching back-up lights. The bed is custom made from white oak and beautifully stained and varnished to look like a million bucks, and custom neon lighting under the bed rails provides a dazzling display at night.

Forget utilitarian functionality inside, this F100 now carries a pair of power leather buckets from a late-model Jaguar and they look like they were born there. Add some tan carpet and a billet instrument panel with white-faced Shark gauges and you get something that hardly looks 50 years old. The leather seats show minimal wear and the OEM patterns and materials certainly make it look cohesive inside. A billet wheel and tilt column work with the custom dash, and yes, that is indeed a Hurst shifter with a cue ball knob and it controls a genuine Toploader 4-speed gearbox underneath. Auxiliary controls and a 12-volt power outlet are housed in a custom aluminum panel under the dash, and entertainment comes via an AM/FM/CD stereo with speakers stashed throughout the cabin. And thanks to more than $1000 worth of new weatherstripping, this truck seals up tight and glides down the road like a luxury car.

The list of new stuff underneath is extensive, and the big one is the built 302 cubic inch V8 which churns out an estimated 300 horsepower. It's dressed for success with Edelbrock aluminum valve covers and air cleaner and color-matched paint on the block. A new Holley 650 CFM double-pumper on a high-rise intake builds torque, as do the ceramic-coated long-tube headers. MDS ignition and a custom billet serpentine belt system dress up the front of the engine, and with power steering and power disc brakes made possible by the Fatman independent front suspension, it drives beautifully. It's as nicely finished underneath as up top, with new lines, a fresh aluminum fuel cell, a stainless exhaust system, and a 9-inch rear out back. Handsome aluminum wheels give it some flash and are protected by 235/60/15 front and 245/60/15 rear radials that fill the wheel wells perfectly.

There's a ton of money wrapped up in this unusual truck, and given how good it looks, you might expect to see some more early Fords like this running around before too long. Call today!
