GORGEOUS TRUCK, EVERYTHING NEW, ONLY 628 MILES SINCE BUILT, DOWNS BODY, NICE!

There are a lot of things to love about this 1937 Ford pickup truck: the outrageous bodywork, the slippery Extreme Green paint, and the sumptuous leather-lined interior. It's also built to run with a smart-running small block V8, 4-wheel discs, and a smooth-riding suspension that makes it easy to forget this is a pickup.

Vehicles like this have always been called “phantoms,” as they're figments of a designer's imagination. Sure, Ford could have combined their passenger car nose with a pickup bed, but nothing coming out of Ford factories in 1937 looked anywhere near this cool. The Downs fiberglass body and steel bed work go quite well together to create something altogether unique, although the art-deco look of the '37 Ford comes through loud and clear. A cool 3-window coupe vibe defines the cab and the split rear window treatment is especially trick, and who doesn't love the look of the sleek '37 front end? Workmanship is extremely good thanks to lots of hand work on the bodywork and many hours spent on the PPG Extreme Green finish. Billet, chrome, and stainless trim dresses up the nose, while 1939 Ford LED taillights light up the rear. The fully functional bed includes handsome wood floor ...

Vehicles like this have always been called "phantoms," as they're figments of a designer's imagination. The fully functional bed includes handsome wood floor with stainless rub strips, as well as a concealed door for the fuel filler.

The interior is beautifully made and wonderfully simple at the same time. Twin bucket seats wrapped in tan leather provide first-class seating for two, and in the sleek cabin, there's a surprising amount of room. The color-matched dash is full of white-faced VDO instruments framed by a matching tan leather steering wheel on a polished tilt column. Comfort and convenience features abound, and this is no ordinary pickup, so you get things like Vintage Air A/C, power windows, and remote door openers, not to mention a great-sounding AM/FM/CD stereo system. The custom-stitched carpets wrap around the floor shifter and billet pedals, giving it a very polished, OEM look, and that dash-mounted rear-view mirror probably isn't all that useful, but it sure looks trick!

The engine is a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 with an estimate 350 horsepower on tap. Now while that's plenty enough to be entertaining, it also means this truck is reliable and easy to service, so you can put it on the road without a second thought. The whole build has only 628 miles on it, so the engine is fresh and dressed to show. Lots of shiny billet aluminum and chrome, ranging from the air cleaner to the radiator to the accessory drive, and the smooth firewall provides the perfect background. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission feeding a Ford 9-inch rear hanging on a set of ladder bars and coilover shocks. The front suspension uses a custom crossmember, power rack-and-pinion steering, and tubular A-arms for support, as well as a second set of coilovers, so it really handles well. The custom dual exhaust system has turn downs just ahead of the rear wheels and there are big Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners. 17-inch Boss wheels look right and wear 205/45/17 front and 235/55/17 rear Nexen radials.

A trick phantom Ford that certainly generates more than its fair share of attention, all at a price that's less than the cost of the build. Call today!
