Looking around, you will note that clean C3 Corvettes are getting harder to find. Sure, you can always find some tired beater or a botched restoration project, but with prices inching steadily upwards, the best original cars are sure to start appreciating. This one is in fantastic original condition, right down to the paint, and its impressive condition suggests that someone has always loved this car. There was a time in all our lives when we dreamed of owning some fantastic fiberglass like this 1980 Corvette. And why wouldn't you? There aren't many more recognizable cars on the planet, and with an awesome color combination like this, and only 47,618 miles, which are believe to be original, they're also great bargains. If you're looking to have some fun without spending a ton of cash, this Corvette looks very appealing.

The fiberglass is straight with no evidence of accident damage, and the finish is nicely preserved thanks to owners who kept it out of the foul weather. Hailing from down south, they also kept it out of the sun, since there's no UV damage on any of the soft parts, and even things like the emblems are still crisp and bright. The mirror-finish T-tops add open-air motoring to this car's resume, and as far as we can tell, the only modification is the blue-dot taillights. It's pretty easy to imagine this car in your driveway, isn't it?

The burgundy leather interior is also nicely preserved. Everything seems to be in first-rate condition, with the seats showing a few signs of use but no major issues. The leather remains supple and comfortable, and there are no popped seams or splits in the hides. These cars only came one way: loaded, so you get power windows, cruise control, A/C, and a tilt/telescoping steering column. The door panels, carpets, and dash pad are all in exemplary condition, and with the bright wood accents that were an aftermarket addition, it has a bright, almost European look inside. The gauges appear to be original, and yes, the speedometer is a goofy 85 MPH unit, as if they could convince Corvette owners not to probe the outer limits of their new sports car's performance. The original AM/FM radio has been jettisoned, replaced by an AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit that sounds decent and almost looks OEM.

Under that chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, the engine is an L48 small block. Thanks to the L82's aluminum intake manifold and a four-barrel carburetor, it makes a reasonable 190 horsepower and 280 pounds of torque, and delivers entertaining performance. The engine bay is quite tidy, with excellent maintenance and good detailing throughout, including shiny valve covers, Chevy Orange engine paint, and a few chrome dress-up pieces. The internals have not been modified in any significant way, which means that it has been in responsible owners' hands all its life and was never raced or abused. The exhaust system uses the original cast iron manifolds and a replacement Y-pipe that eliminates the restrictive catalytic converter, plus a recent set of pipes out back. A 3-speed automatic transmission features a lock-up torque converter, which helps save gas and is unobtrusive in normal use. Handsome Corvette alloy wheels wearing 225/70/15 BFGoodrich radials round out the performance look.

Everybody loves Corvettes, and nothing gets attention better than a this handsome white Stingray. Call today!
