VERY CLEAN CAR, 440 MOPAR STROKED TO 496, SHOW OR GO, EXTREMELY FAST!

“Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” Ralph Waldo Emerson may not have been speaking about radical Mopars, but if you're tired of seeing Chevys from sea to shining sea, this brutal 1966 Belvedere II might be the car for you. In-your-face graphics, a big cowl hood, a drag racer's stance, and 496 inches of Wedge power is indeed off of the beaten path!

Outside, the bright blue paint was chosen for maximum visual assault. Sure, this car was originally blue, but a wishy-washy light metallic color wasn't going to cut it. The panels were straightened while the trim was being restored and the chrome being re-plated. The paint went down smoothly, and the shiny bits look great against it, making it look nicer than most of the racers we've ever seen. A new windshield went in, as did new seals, and the lights and lenses look great. The race-inspired graphics are a cool touch from the waving multicolor checkered flags on the sides to the scrollwork on the C-pillars. A big fiberglass cowl induction hood adds visual punch as well as much-needed clearance for the dual quads underneath. You're not getting lost in a crowd with this big Plymouth!

VERY CLEAN CAR, 440 MOPAR STROKED TO 496, SHOW OR GO, EXTREMELY FAST!

"Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Ralph Waldo Emerson may not have been speaking about radical Mopars, but if you're tired of seeing Chevys from sea to shining sea, this brutal 1966 Belvedere II might be the car for you.

Inside, crisp white bucket seats sit front and center in a very classic interior. The door frames are painted in the same blue as the outside while wearing new white door panels, and the contrast is dazzling. The dash is all original up top, but you'll find a trio of gauges on your left, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo in the center and an Auto Meter 5-inch Sport Comp tach with telltale and a shift light on your right. A classic B&M ratchet shifter selects the gears on the transmission underneath. Between the seats is a fire extinguisher for safety, a cool racer vibe and as a reminder of what lurks under the hood. Get comfy and fire that engine...it's time to put a hurtin' on the guy in the next lane!

Pulling the pins and lifting the hood reveals a stout 496 cubic inch stroker built from a 440 block. We've heard whispers of 675 horsepower, and it's certainly possible with the parts chosen here. Up top you're looking at an Edelbrock dual quad manifold and a pair of Edelbrock four-barrel carbs. It works great and looks even better. The fuel mixture then flows through a big set of aluminum cylinder heads before meeting its fate in the all-forged short block below. An MSD 6AL ignition box and Mopar electronic ignition system lights the fires before the TTI headers and 3-inch exhaust are charged with dispensing with the spent fumes. An aluminum radiator and Mopar aluminum water pump and housing handle cooling duties. No one wants to struggle while driving an old car, and power steering helps out tremendously. A quick dip underneath shows subframe connectors (a rather good idea considering the power involved) and Lakewood traction bars helping to put the power down. The driveshaft safety loop is never a bad idea, Flowmaster mufflers announce your arrival and newer suspension pieces keep you on the straight and narrow. Staggered 205/65/15 front and 255/60/15 rear tires do their best to plant the power, all wrapped around a set of flashy Weld wheels.

If you're looking to stand out, nothing succeeds like excess, and this Belvedere definitely delivers on every front. Call today!
