Living in the shadow of their late 50's siblings for decades, '60s era Thunderbirds are finally getting the respect they deserve. And it's hard to understand why it took so long. With the optional 428 under the hood, original documentation, and lots of options, this '66 Thunderbird has led a pampered life and is evidence why these fourth-gen Thunderbirds are in such demand.
Finished in its original G-code Sapphire Blue, this Jet-Bird is long and low, sleek and powerful, and the embodiment of personal luxury in the 1960s. Styling was dramatic but restrained in its use of bright trim, and the more formal roof line contrasts brilliantly with the sleek lower body. The paint and body are in great shape, with nice body gaps and a shine that took hours and hours to create through laborious hand sanding and buffing. The white vinyl roof was recently re-covered and contrasts brightly with the bright blue paint, giving the car a very upscale look. Both the front and rear original bumpers have been re-plated and complete the slick look.
Pop open the door and you'll be greeted by a stunning white leather interior that is a refreshing change from all the black interiors we see. All the seats have ... Please ask for the full description.

Description
All the seats have been recovered in comfortable leather that begs to be sat in. And just dig the wrap-around rear seats that show virtually zero wear on this very sleek design. Stainless steel flashes throughout the white interior and the subtle woodgrained accents remind you that this is a top-of-the-line automobile. This 'Bird came loaded from the factory, and you'll find options including a power driver's seat, power windows (including power vent windows), power front disc brakes, and factory A/C. Out back you'll find a spotless trunk, which features all its original panels.
In 1966, Ford made the decision to allow customers to option their 428 big block into a Thunderbird. Amazingly, this marriage of luxury and performance only cost $86 over the base engine. Fully detailed, with small touches like painted inner fenders and firewall to match the body really take it to the next level. Covered in the famous FoMoCo blue, the 428 features all the correct 428 decals and has been equipped with a new Holley 4-barrell electric choke carburetor to ensure reliable startups. The brake booster and master cylinder have been upgraded along with the A/C to modern R134a standards. Bolted to the big block is a 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the stock rear-end. Power flows to the pavement through 15" steel rims with handsome 5-spoke wheelcovers that have been wrapped in a set of 215/75R15 whitewall radials.
Included in the sale is the original dealer's invoice, owners manual, restoration receipts, and a reproduction window sticker. When it comes to luxury and performance, it doesn't get much better than this desirable '66 Thunderbird. Call today!
