SS BY SLP, 25,835 ACTUAL MILES, VERY CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT, WELL DOCUMENTED

This 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS 35th Anniversary Edition is a great example of shared DNA improving the breed. With a Corvette-based LS1 V8 making a grossly under-rated 325 horsepower it's insanely fast, and thanks to full documentation and limited edition status, it's also a sure-fire future collectable.

The SS package was developed by SLP but brought in-house by Chevrolet, making this the unquestioned top-of-the-line factory Camaro. Adding more than $10,000 to the F-body's base price, the SS was an expensive piece of muscle, but the guys who know these cars know that they're a heck of a lot faster than they should be. Purchased with the intention to preserve it for the future, this one presents in almost new condition in every way and offers a few trick mods that make it seriously potent. It shows just 25,835 authentic miles, and its overall condition suggests it's been protected every day of its life. The brilliant Rally Red paint is certainly attention-grabbing and with the gaping ram air hood and awesome silver Anniversary stripes, well, let's just say it's got the horsepower to back up the look. The paint has probably never seen anything more aggressive than a lawn sprinkler and ... Please ask for the full description.

The paint has probably never seen anything more aggressive than a lawn sprinkler and someone has spent a lot of free time maintaining it and keeping it shiny. There might be a few signs of use here and there, but they're hardly noticeable and if you like the way these cars look, few are as impressive as this one.

The black and gray leather interior was part of the top-of-the-line package, offering a few commemorative badges, since it's definitely a special car. The embroidered leather seats look quite good, showing only very minimal use, and the rear seat doesn't look like it's ever been used. Custom SLP floor mats were an optional extra and fit well, but the rest is basic Camaro goodness. There's a full array of gauges in an easy-to-read instrument panel and everything was standard on the SS, from power windows, seats, and locks to A/C to cruise control, and as you'd expect, it all works. A powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system handles the entertainment that the engine can't (yeah, right), and while this one has a 4-speed automatic, it's been upgraded to make it positively lethal on the street. T-tops are always a welcome addition, offering open-air motoring with the security of a hardtop and with fold-down rear seats and a decent-sized trunk, the Camaro is reasonably practical as a real car, too.

The LS1 under the hood was originally rated at 325 horsepower, which was already under-stated by the factory just to keep the Corvette on top, but inside it was identical. This one was treated to a variety of upgrades, including a slightly bigger cam and long-tube headers connected to a trick exhaust system that opens a remote cut-out with the touch of a button. The engine compartment was never designed to be beautiful, but it's very clean and well-maintained, so someone ensured that it was in top mechanical condition throughout its life. The 4-speed automatic transmission was treated to a 3800 RPM stall torque converter and with fat 275/40/17 radials (Mickey Thompson drag radials in back) on the stock alloys, it launches like a rocket sled.

Heavily documented with window stickers, SLP paperwork, certificates of authenticity, and all the other stuff to guarantee it's the real deal, this is a car whose owner really knew what he was doing. Call today!
