SUPER BEETLE CONVERTIBLE, CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT, TASTEFULLY UPGRADED/ RESTORED

Just a glance through our inventory will reveal that we have a hard time keeping VW Beetle convertibles in stock. It seems that the love affair with the people's car has been rekindled and this 1975 Super Beetle convertible offers access to that simple, yet surprisingly stylish, world of practical fun.

White seems to be a perennially popular color on these cheerful little cars, mostly because everyone can agree that it looks great. You already know all about the various upgrades that the Super Beetles got to make them a bit more civilized and practical, yet the classic look remains and everyone loves a Beetle. The finish looks quite good here, with a great shine that you don't usually see on white cars and certainly not cars that are this affordable. Like many of its siblings, it has probably spent almost all its life as a hobby vehicle, used for fun outings on sunny days and as a result it is clean and straight. The doors fit well, the fenders have neat seams with proper fender welting along the bodywork, and even the archaic running boards are in excellent shape. Bright chrome bumpers are simple yet effective and the Super Beetle got a little more stainless trim to go with its move ... Please ask for the full description.

Bright chrome bumpers are simple yet effective and the Super Beetle got a little more stainless trim to go with its move upscale, so it looks great sitting in the sun today.

The black interior has familiar high-back bucket seats, and with cloth inserts, they remain comfortable even on hot days. The upholstery actually looks quite fresh, perhaps replaced in the not-too-distant past and the look is quite appropriate in the vintage Bug. Carpets, door panels, and the dash pad are in good shape, despite this being a vehicle that's seen more than its fair share of sunlight. With a single instrument pod, the dash will look familiar to anyone who drove a VW in the past, and the original steering wheel feels substantial in your hands. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo has been neatly installed in the dash, replacing the original AM unit, and with powerful speakers stashed in the kick panels, it sounds quite good even at speed with the top down. Cheeky beetle floor mats should probably be standard equipment on any vintage Beetle and an aftermarket center console adds cup holders for a practical touch. The top is a very well-fitted cloth assembly that feels luxurious and works with a fully lined headliner to give the low-cost VW a very polished feel when you're driving with the top up.

The 1600 cc flat-four works as well here as it ever did, providing a fun, energetic performance that isn't exactly fast but certainly entertaining. It starts with that familiar Beetle exhaust note and as you'd expect, it's quite reliable. A newer carburetor helps with the starting and smooth throttle response and despite its stats, it'll cruise at 60 MPH all day while still pulling down surprisingly good fuel economy. Linked to a 4-speed manual transmission, it's easy to zip around town in your new Beetle convertible and the brakes are surprisingly effective, mostly thanks to the car's light weight. The suspension isn't exactly set up for handling but it's comfortable and competent and you'll never get tired of that torquey feel of the engine doing its thing out back. Handsome Minilite-style wheels are a popular accessory and carry 195/65/15 Kelly radials that fill the fenders nicely.

Don't take my word for it, look around. Clean Beetle convertibles are hot and for the money, there's probably not a better way to get some top-down fun this summer. Call today!
