Classic looks and big power is what this hobby is all about, this 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air brings them both to the table. Packing a punch with a 427 cubic inch V8 under the hood and wrapped up with classic good looks, this first year Bel Air might just be the buy you've been looking for!
Black is a timeless color for any genre of car, and this Bel Air wears a slick coat that has been topped by 7 coats of clear on its metallic black and silver color combination. The silver roof complements the body well, this look will stay in style for a very long time! Of course you can't have 50s era styling without loads of chrome and stainless trim, and that's exactly what you get with this package. The front and rear chrome bumpers look great. In fact, all of the chrome has been redone, the trim has been re-polished, and it shows. Stepping back to admire the car, the chrome reversed smoothie wheels add a nice touch that definitely completes that muscle cruiser look!
When you open the doors and get comfortable in the gray vinyl and cloth bench seat, you'll admire the black and stainless trimmed dash that is a great representation of the era. Front and center to the driver is a polished banjo steering wheel that sits on a tilt column. In addition to the speedometer, other gauges in the aftermarket gauge cluster include voltage, fuel level, water temperature, and oil pressure. There is a cutout in the dash for a stereo, but one was never installed so your options are nearly endless should you choose to install one yourself. Overall the upholstery appears very complete and clean. It's a comfortable cabin and the driver enjoys power steering and power brakes.
The main feature of this Bel Air is what lies beneath the hood, the previously mentioned 427 cubic inch V8! As if that big block power wasn't enough right out of the box, it has also been upgraded with a dual quad Offenhauser manifold, fed by two Holley 500 cfm carbs. This beast exhales through ceramic coated headers. Internally, the engine has been beefed up with a forged crank and pistons, Erson cam lifters and fresh roller rockers. Keeping that big block in check is a March serpentine pulley system, a new alternator, fresh 4 core radiator, and dual thermo statically controlled electric fans. Transferring that power to the 10 bolt rear axle is a 700R4 overdrive transmission. Taking care of handling and stopping duties is a Chevelle independent front suspension with power disc brakes. Out back is a ladder bar rear suspension, and adjustable QA1 shocks sit at all four corners.
It's obvious that the previous owner had driving duties in mind when they were building this Bel Air. Nothing was compromised, and you couldn't build this car yourself for double our asking price! With reliable components, this car is ready for action. Call today!
