SUPERCLEAN A-CODE PONY, 289 V8, C4 AUTO, FRESH PAINT & INTERIOR, TORQUE THRUSTS!

A clean Mustang with a great hi-po look, this 1965 coupe is one of those cars that will catch your attention with its slick paint job, and the closer you look, the more you'll find to love. It sounds right, offers a stylish interior, and will be a source of pride every time you take it out of the garage.

I've always found that early Mustangs look best in subtle colors. With that classic look that everyone over the age of six can instantly identify, it doesn't need to shout. However, that doesn't mean this one needs help in the aggression department, as the bright red paint with black rocker stripes give it a high-performance look. On the street, other guys with fast cars will quickly size this one up as a threat and leave it alone, which was entirely the point. It also features clean bodywork that makes it look easy, but in reality there are hundreds of hours invested in the sheetmetal and paint, which were done several years ago and still look great. You can see how neatly everything lines up, a sure sign of careful workmanship, and with a nice shine, it will get appreciative glances from guys who know the good stuff when they see it. The original trim remains, so there haven't been any ... Please ask for the full description.

The original trim remains, so there haven't been any customizations or alterations; from the original chrome bumpers to the 289 badges to the polished stainless window trim, this pony looks right.

The interior is fortified with new seats and door panels, done in the correct style. There are also recent carpets on the floor, bright hardware, and a minimum of add-ons to distract you from the original feel. The dash pad and headliner are probably original and perhaps showing their age, but they're certainly usable as-is and only stand out because everything else is so nice. The factory gauges are in good order, covering only the basics, but that's how these cars were when they were new and we're glad to see that nobody tried to dress it up as something it isn't. In the center of the dash, you'll find an AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit that sounds pretty darned good, and an original steering wheel with chrome spokes looks right at home in a vintage Mustang. No worries out back, either, where the trunk has been finished with a reproduction mat and a spare tire with matching cover, so it's ready to travel.

Ford's snarky 289 is the right choice in an early Mustang, with its light weight, smooth torque, and wonderful feeling of legitimate performance potential. This is an original A-code car, so the 4-barrel carburetor is correct and it runs superbly. Once again, they didn't over-do it, and isnetad focused on making it fun to drive and reliable. There's a big aluminum radiator up front, a recent alternator, and a few chrome dress-up pieces that could be considered period-correct. It's backed by a C4 3-speed automatic and an 8-inch rear that the door tag claims is full of 3.00 gears. A rumbling dual exhaust with glasspack-style mufflers sets the right tone, and those attractive 14-inch Torque Thrust wheels and 205/70/14 BFG radials are a cool upgrade on any vintage pony.

Affordable fun has always been the Mustang's mission, and this awesome coupe definitely delivers. Call today!
