One of the most recognizable and desired classic cars has got to be a first generation Mustang, like this 1966 Ford Mustang GT. With an appealing color combination on a clean fastback shell, we imagine this Mustang GT will be a hot topic of our showroom.
The Candy Apple Red that covers the smooth panels of the '66 Mustang GT is the correct color that the car left the assembly line with. Today, the red paint lays nice with minimal wear. The black rocker panel stripes add a nice touch to the sporty looks, as do the GT specific grill mounted fog lights that present clear lenses. The chrome bumpers up front and out back look good and clean up very nicely. It all wraps up to a classic and iconic look that will remain in style for many decades to come.
Open the doors to a correct black interior covered in great looking vinyl. The GT option interior is possibly one of the best looking for the pony cars of the era, and this one remains very clean. The dual cowl dash houses five separate round bezels that contain the speedometer and gauges for water temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and amperage. Also contained in the dash is an AM/FM radio, cold air conditioning, and switches for the heat and defrost. Behind the driver and front passenger is a split rear seat that is also covered in clean vinyl that matches the front buckets. And the driver takes control with a beautiful 3-spoke and chrome trimmed steering wheel.
Under the hood is a 289 cubic inch V8 that produces 225 horsepower. Like the rest of the car, everything remains in stock form with a very clean engine bay that contrasts nicely with the Ford blue motor. Power from that motor travels through a 4-speed manual transmission that turns a posi-traction rear end. Exhaust gasses from the small block are exhaled through an H-pipe dual exhaust system that has a great rumble! The underpinnings of this GT have seen some road time, but all of the hardware is still present and solid with disc brakes up front. Putting it all to the asphalt is 215/70/14 Cooper Cobra Radial GTs.
Cars like this usually sell themselves when they come to our showroom. They're clean, solid, and iconic cars that have had a massive fan base for many years. This 1966 Mustang GT simply looks like it rolled out of the showroom and has seen very few miles throughout its many years with just the right amount of enjoyment. Don't miss this chance to take home your dream pony car. Call today!
