The fifth generation Continental hasn't quite had the fame that the fourth generation 1960s cars have. But that doesn't demerit it from being at the same level of class and posh that it's older, suicide-door siblings are. This 1973 Lincoln Continental is stunning example as to why these cars were the epitome of American luxury in the 1970s.
This Continental wears a beautiful coat of Red Moondust Metallic and it looks liquid smooth on the car's sheet metal. That's the correct color for this Lincoln and it's fair to say it was worth the $127 option in 1973. It presents a luxurious presence with crisp reflections that is highlighted with elegant brightwork gracing the lines of the car. Also correct to the car is the beige vinyl top that appears to be in new condition. It's a nice contrast against the fresh red hue. Clean chrome bumpers cap the car at the front and rear with fender skirts adding a stylish touch out back. Distinctive features of these cars are the cool hidden headlights and you can count on these working without worries.

Other luxuries and conveniences that you'd expect from a luxury car of this era are present, including power windows, power door locks, and a tilt wheel.
This big cruiser needs a big motor to motivate it along, and powering this Lincoln is the original 460 cubic inch V8. That motors appears to have seen a couple of upgrades with an aluminum intake manifold and Holley carburetor. Power is sent to a 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and translates power to the rear axle. Power steering and power brakes with discs up front make driving this big luxury car a pleasure. And the chassis is built to the standards that will have you feel like you're riding on air.
