We sell a lot of these handsome Chevy pickups, but very few are finished to the level of this 1984 Chevrolet Silverado. Aside from the obvious ultra-smooth and slick bodywork, it packs a 427 cubic inch stroker motor, a great interior, and the perfect combination of good looks and drivability. This is a truck that doesn't disappoint on any level.
At a glance, this truck will look instantly familiar to just about everyone, but it's in the details where it really shines. Obviously it's red... really red. The color is exactly the right shade, not too pink and not too orange, and it's draped over some very straight bodywork indeed. Before they got busy spraying paint, though, they went though and trimmed the fat. The door handles, side marker lights, emblems, taillights, and the rear bumper were all unceremoniously tossed in favor of a smooth, clean look. There's a custom rear roll pan out back fitted with LED taillights, and a few airbrushed details add some interest. The reflections in the paint are enough to demonstrate just how good the finish really is and the bed is every bit as nice, which means this was either a super clean truck or someone spent a ton of money really making it right. ...
There's also a nice-fitting tonneau cover that makes the bed reasonably weatherproof and looks great.
If you think it's just a pretty exterior, guess again, because the interior has received a full makeover as well. There's a handsome new black cloth seat cover on the original bench, along with a functional center armrest with cup holders that add practicality. Matching black door panels and new black carpets enhance the upscale look, and a set of Chevrolet-logo floor mats keep it clean. The original gauges have been replaced by a set of Auto Meter instruments that look great and offer far more accuracy than the factory stuff, and a B&M shifter replaces what was probably an original column shift. Features include A/C, power windows and locks, and a tilt steering column, which all make this vintage pickup feel very contemporary. There's also an AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the dash with billet pedals on the floor to complete the modern look.
For power, this awesome pickup uses a 400 cubic inch Chevy small block V8, punched out to 427 cubic inches. That's right, big block power in a small block package and it makes for some very entertaining performance. The engine bay is fantastically well detailed with lots of chrome and polished aluminum, and red accents that really make it pop. There's a big radiator up front with custom electric fans and fabricated shrouds for both the radiator and the battery to clean things up a bit. It's backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission that feeds a set of 3.42 gears in the rugged 12-bolt rear end. That rear end also hangs on a set of leaf springs and traction bars that are probably a necessity with all that power on tap. A fresh Flowmaster exhaust system with X-pipe gives the snarling stroker motor a fantastic sound, and the truck sits exactly right thanks to careful suspension tuning. Classic Cragar mags with spinners complete the look and wear 255/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials.
Very rarely do we come across trucks finished to this level. It's classic, functional, and the custom tricks are extremely well done. A fantastic show and go truck that's very reasonably priced. Call now!
