454 GM PERF. CRATE, AUTO, FRNT PWR DISCS, PWR TOP, PWR STEER, NICE CONVERTIBLE!!

With all the SS clones out there, it is refreshing to see a 69 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu that doesn't pretend to be something it wasn't originally. But don't let that fool you, under this hood lies a 454 big block that helps this classic to not only turn heads, but also earn respect on the road. We see it every day at Streetside Classics: year-in and year-out, few cars are as popular as the Chevy Chevelle. And this drop top '69 Chevelle is proof why.

It's hard to go wrong with red with white stripes, and this bold look on the 69 Chevelle convertible looks fantastic. While we know the original paint color was Garnet Red, this close representation shows just how sharp the red looked then, and how fantastic it complements the car today. Although the paint has seen some age, it is quite presentable. Panel alignment and door gaps are quite good. The bumpers look great; the stainless trim polished, and the white top looks to be in good condition. We really enjoy that they kept it as stock as possible on the outside which contribute to its street-fighter nature. Simply put, this Chevelle looks classic, and is ready to be the envy of all your friends.

Not being an SS certainly doesn't mean the interior isn't a performance-oriented place to do business. With a clean, crisp white vinyl interior, it has a very sporty demeanor that's perfectly appropriate for the Chevelle, and all of it remains in very good condition. The three spoke wood grained steering wheel warms up the beautiful all-white upholstery and the red carpets continue the color scheme from the exterior. The water and oil pressure gauges by Summit Racing augment the factory setup, giving you a full view of the engine's goings-on, along with a tachometer by Auto Gauge. A great-fitting white top with crystal clear rear window raises and lowers itself with a touch of a switch under the steering column, and one glance in the trunk will prove to you the level of care this one has received.

The rumbling 454 cubic inch V8 now wears a few traditional upgrades, but as a big block GM Performance Crate engine, you know it runs right and sounds great. Under the large chrome air filter you will find a 4-barrel carburetor, 454 branded valve covers, high performance ignition, and headers. Spent gasses travel out the dual exhaust that is equipped with an H-pipe to make a loud muscle car inspired roar. Bolted to the big block Chevy is a sturdy TH400 3-speed automatic that sends the power to a 10-bolt rear-end. All that power is put to the ground thanks to 15" American Racing Torque Thrust Wheels that have been wrapped in what appear to be new Concorde Radial SR rubber. And with power steering, and front power disc brakes, this big beast is a blast to drive!

This nice vintage ragtop has a lot going for it. And when you consider you can enjoy this open-air V8 Chevelle for just pennies on the dollar compared to a big block SS, you can count on it not lasting long here. Call today!
