There's no denying how hot the market is right now for early 4X4s, and this 1974 Ford Bronco is a perfect example why. However, because most have been abused for decades by off roaders, these early Broncos have become increasingly hard to find. That's what makes what we have in front of you today so rare. Take a close look at this '74 Bronco and you'll see just how fresh of a restoration it really is.
In just a couple of years after this Bronco left the factory, Ford would introduce the 2nd generation Bronco. But, there's not much like a clean, chiseled look of the first-gen, and with a fresh coat of Ford S code Blue, and white top combination, this one is stunning! Super clean, straight, and with a few neat details, this Bronco delivers all the goodness of the original design, but will make onlookers spend a few extra moments to take it all in. Note the contrasting grille, the neat fit of the doors, and the bright white hardtop, all of which give this Bronco an awesome profile. Its clear that it has been lifted, but not so much that its obnoxious. The chrome on the body, albeit minimal, is extremely clean and accents the blue and white combination nicely. The hood features a subtle hood scoop that screams more like Mustang or Torino than Bronco.
Inside, you'll find that the interior is very nicely upholstered using attractive colors and comfortable vinyl seating surfaces, it's a lot more upscale-looking than most off-roaders of the period. This is in part to a fresh light tan vinyl seats that are accented by the black floors and the blue panels. Have a look at the door frames and sills, there's no sign of rust, and out back there's a tailgate that has been painted in the same Ford S Blue. The dashboard is uncut with what appears to be the factory gauges, and a black dash pad that helps with glare from the windshield on sunny days. And In front of the driver you'll find a woodgrain 3-spoke steering wheel that wears the Ford emblem in the center. The interior is simple, yet is capable of taking you and your closest friends on any adventure you can think of with this 4x4.
Under the hood you'll find a very nicely dressed up 302 cubic inch V8 that provides plenty of horsepower and performance on the street and in the rough. Equipped with aftermarket headers, K&N chrome air filter, chrome valve covers, chrome alternator and a MSD Ignition, the engine is ready for show or go. The engine bay has been painted in the same great blue as the exterior, and features a howe aluminum radiator to keep temperature in check. Underneath, the chassis is in excellent condition, and features a dual exhaust that produces a great sound out of chrome tips. Bolted to the potent 302 is a 3-speed manual transmission. At the corners you'll find One-off Forged Centerline Wheels that have been wrapped in BF Goodrich rubber, with stopping power coming from Hydroboost brakes with discs up front; you will know this Bronco is ready for the street or the mud.
