With all the American muscle under our showroom lights, it might be easy to overlook this '82 Alfa Romeo Spider, but you would be overlooking a vehicle that was truly ahead of its time. With a factory 5-speed manual, four-wheel power disc brakes and a potent 4-cylinder, this Spider is sure to provide an amazing ride for you and your closest friend.
Undeniably Italian, this Alfa is the entry-level two-seater for the someone who knows the real thing when they see it. Everyone has built a two-seat roadster, it seems, but few can do it better than the Italians. It starts with great bodywork, and the Spider, which endured for decades virtually unchanged, shows off a lot of flair in a compact package. Panel fit is quite good, especially considering the hand-built nature of the car, and the shape works just fine without the body add-ons that would come a few years later. Simple, elegant, and extremely sporty, it shows off the little things that the Italians do so well.

With all the American muscle under our showroom lights, it might be easy to overlook this '82 Alfa Romeo Spider, but you would be overlooking a vehicle that was truly ahead of its time.
The special Italian touch extends to the interior, where even this bargain-priced roadster gets handsome black buckets that wear fresh seat covers. A wood-rimmed wheel adds to the interior's ambience, and looks fantastic wearing the famous Alfa logo in the center. While it looks pretty wild to Americans, the shifter is intuitive and easy to use without any strangeness at all. The instruments resting in the pair of hoods jutting out of the dash appear to be original, and show off the simplicity that has long been a hallmark of Italian automotive design, with the secondary instruments slightly canted towards the driver. The trunk is actually well-shaped and spacious enough to hold luggage for two. Up top the black convertible top seals up tightly and appears as if it is brand new.
Lift the hood and you'll find what is believed to be the original numbers matching 2000cc 4-cylinder engine. The engine sings to life with gusto and loves to rev, and with a glorious sound from the muffler out back, you'll be looking for reasons to drop a gear or two and pin the throttle. Bright silver cam covers wear the traditional Alfa look, and the L-jet electronic fuel injection has almost instant throttle response. Bolted to the small engine is the 5-speed manual gearbox that snicks through the gears. At the corners, you'll find factory four-wheel discs that live behind stylish factory alloys carrying 195/65/14 Duro rubber.
Fun and stylish, and ahead of its time, this bargain-priced exotic is a great entry-level Italian. With plenty of parts, easy maintenance, great colors, and performance that will always make you smile, this is an excellent choice for a fair-weather toy. Call today!
