SE CORRECT, BUILT 400 V8, AUTO, FRAME OFF, A/C, #'S MATCH AVAILABLE, SLICK PAINT

Many might remember that in 1976, Pontiac was celebrating their 50th anniversary, and to honor this milestone they built a special edition Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This special Trans Am was painted in black and gold, and had such an incredible look that it ultimately led to it earning a starring role with Burt Reynolds in "Smokey and the Bandit." The release was so successful that the trans am actually outsold Chevy's Corvettes from '76-80. Just over 1600 of the SE, Special Editions were created, and are extremely hard to come by. Which is why we love this incredibly well done re-creation that could pass as an original. Lets take a closer look.

Of course, this SE tribute is covered in extremely slick Starlight Black paint, and the look is instantly identifiable as a Pontiac Trans Am. The paint scheme with the gold accenting it looks extremely fresh and shows almost no wear. The doors, hood, and trunk fit quite well, and while some of the early cars had Hurst T-tops, you're really better off without them since they were prone to leaking. Correct gold stripes, decals and accents are present, including the gold headlight inserts, and 'TRANS AM' in German script on the rear spoiler, front ... Please ask for the full description.

Correct gold stripes, decals and accents are present, including the gold headlight inserts, and 'TRANS AM' in German script on the rear spoiler, front fenders, and above the grill.

Inside, the gold and black theme continues, with the most dramatic element being the gold anodized dashboard. Still machine-turned like many of the other famous models, it definitely makes a statement, especially with the matching gold anodized steering wheel spokes, and correct gold horn button. Equipped with a ton of new components including a new headliner, carpet, seats, stereo system, seat foam, package tray, door panels and window strips, you can tell someone really knew how to make this into an SE interior. Black bucket seats, and a split rear bench providing 2+2 seating are covered in glossy black vinyl, and are in simply spectacular condition. All the instruments are crisply marked without any of the usual age-related fading and cloudy lenses. This SE came with factory A/C, and even the factory clock still spins its dials at it should. The only noteworthy upgrade is an AM/FM/CD stereo system that looks right at home in the interior.

Under the Screaming Chicken hood is the Pontiac's mighty 400 cubic inch V8. Like the rest of the build, this engine bay is fully restored and is extremely fresh. The 400 was bored .030 over and utilizes forged pistons, double roller timing chain, comp cam extreme magnum camshaft, and an Edelbrock performer intake to make tons of horsepower. You wont be questioning yourself at the stop light Grand Prix with this baby. And if you are a purist...the owner has the matching numbers block available to go with the car. That big hood scoop is functional and was intimidating as heck in 1976, and the big V8 rumbles with an authoritative bark that acts as an additional warning. The engine wears correct Pontiac Turquoise paint and is backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission, equipped with a 2800 stall converter. Power is sent to the ground thanks to 15" Snowflake rims from a '79 WS6 and have been wrapped in Winston Winner rubber.

If you have always wondered what it was like to enjoy a '76 Trans Am SE, but didn't want to feel guilty about unleashing it on the open road, then this is the car for you. Still standing out with an iconic presence today, it won't last long in our showroom. Don't miss this one. Call today!
