While ponycar prices continue to skyrocket, many classic car buffs are turning to a great affordable alternative for their classic needs: The Ford Falcon. And when you examine examples like this '64 Falcon Futura its easy to understand why. This restored 1964 Futura features a unique 260ci V8, and an incredible upscale look that seems more grown-up than the Mustang, almost like a factory sleeper.
Bright red looks just as awesome on the Falcon, giving it an intimidating look that belies its price tag. The Falcon Futura was the top-of-the-line and it shows, with added trim and a great corporate look that was more Galaxie than grocery-getter. Paint and bodywork look great, suggesting that someone was really enjoying the idea of a high-end Falcon that could run with the ponies. Gaps are even, the panels line up right, and the sharply creased sheetmetal is crisply rendered-just look at all the character lines Ford stamped into the Falcon and you'll see that this was no easy restoration. On the fenders you'll find the 260 V8 badges, while on the back it proudly wears the name Futura. The chrome shows extremely well, which is a good thing considering this car has a lot of it.

To fully appreciate the interior of this car you can't just look at it through the windows. This is one of those cars that you need to get behind the wheel. Sit on the newly upgraded gray cloth bench seat and see how plush it really is. The clean interior goes from the cloth door panels, to the black carpet with Ford floor mats. The driver sits behind the classic three spoke foam cushion steering wheel mounted to the black dash that feature red accents. The long horizontal speedometer is flanked on the sides with the temp and fuel gauges, which appear to be original. A nice pod of three auxiliary gauges were added to the under-dash, showing the water, oil, and amps. To add a modern touch that any passenger will appreciate, the AM/FM radio has been updated and is now iPod compatible. Needless to say, this is one interior that anyone will appreciate and can get cozy behind the wheel whether taking this car for a short driver or a long weekend trip.
Pop the hood and you'll be greeted by a wonderfully restored engine bay. You'll quickly notice that the firewall and inner fenders have been painted to match the vibrant red exterior. Between the fenders, a 260ci V8 provides all the pop you could ever need in a car like this. Decked out in a chrome air filter and valve covers, the engine is very clean and roars to life thanks to a MSD ignition. Bolted to the gorgeous small block is an automatic transmission that is ready to cruise on the highway. Putting the power to the ground is a set of Pacer Saw Blade rims that have been wrapped in steel belted radial rubber.
Fast, fun, and slightly out of the ordinary, this Falcon gives you the moves of a Mustang with a low-profile look that will be sure to turn heads at your local car show. Call today!
