194 CID STRAIGHT 6, 3 SPEED MANUAL, VERY NICE ORIGINAL RESTORED CLASSIC TRUCK!

This classic 1930 Chevy pickup is a fantasy about honesty. A truck with a genuine 1930s feel like this one begs for a lazy Sunday drive, and reminds you of the serenity that a country road can provide.

This pickup's exceptional condition is rare, because most from this era were purchased to be lifelong workhorses and not many survived. It does have a touch of indulgence with the chrome lights and grille from Chevrolet's AD line, but the rest of the body is much more industrial. It's a two-tone reminder of an honest day's work. In fact, its labor credentials feel so legitimate, there's a temptation to stencil your name down the side with your fictitious feed-n-seed company. We won't stop you, but please don't ruin the quality cream and black paint already on this truck. The polished wood bed looks perfect on this pickup. It's obvious that the rear has been restored somewhat recently because wood can't go untouched 85 years on this earth and continue to look this good. Still, just like the rest of the truck, the history has been respected. A nice touch is the classic trunk mounted in the bed. This allows for room to securely store gear without taking up precious interior space. ... Please ask for the full description.

Inside is a cab built for long-lasting function. The vinyl bench seat is intact and very authentic. There was a new dashboard panel engineered for 1930 that carried an array of round gauges for speed, mileage, oil, water, and power. A special innovation for this year was a new electronic gasoline gauge developed by Delco. Someone has taken amazing care to make sure all of these readouts are still working today. The four-spoke wood wheel was purely functional decades ago, but today it is beautifully artistic. The three-speed manual has a purposeful metallic feel. There is no radio, but I'm willing to bet that on every road trip you'll create a mental soundtrack of blues, jazz, and swing.

If you're not into making your own music, there is one other sound that never gets old. The 194 cubic-inch straight-six motor gives off an industrial symphony of simplicity. It is a rhythmic chug that feels like being in charge of a mini locomotive as the tempo increases with the acceleration. The ride is another exercise in minimalism. Leaf springs, solid wheels, and bias ply tires are far from modern, which makes them perfect in this time capsule of a pickup. The full experience of being behind the wheel is to feel rolling history. This Chevy is special because it was built at GM's Janesville, Wisconsin factory. This is a facility that held the record as GM's oldest running factory until the assembly line went idle in 2009. Caring for this truck is like watching over a part of this story.

An authentic vintage truck is a huge part of American history. There will be no speed records in this pickup, but for the right person, every day can be Sunday. And wait and see the looks and crowds that will gather. Call today!
