Surf's up! It's time to relive some memories or make some new ones in this 1970 Volkswagen Bus that's just begging for a road trip.
If you're looking at this van, you better be prepared to make some new friends. That's because the fun of a VW Bus is all about the character and camaraderie of ownership. The Type 2 (the original Beetle was the Type 1) used to be a symbol of the counter culture, and today that has evolved into a friendly club whose only dues are to appreciate this very adaptable van. This second generation VW Bus looks a bit different than the rest. The two tone turquoise and white paint job has been customized nicely to have a deep “V” in the front. This gives it the appearance of the iconic first-generation of these vans without giving up any of the improvements that came over the years (or their rapidly escalating price!). Chrome is used at a minimum on this van, and the brightwork really stands out in places like the front emblem, door mirrors, and the classic VW wheel covers.
The interior of this Bus makes you want to get away for the weekend. There's seating for five, with comfortable buckets up front. Plenty of flat floor space immediately inside the rear ... Please ask for the full description.

The two tone turquoise and white paint job has been customized nicely to have a deep "V" in the front.
Plenty of flat floor space immediately inside the rear sliding door can easily hold cargo, like camping gear. Plus, the home-style floor mat in the center makes for a living room atmosphere once you get to campsite. And the modern AM/FM stereo with iPod hookup can play tunes all night long. The final touch is a set of window curtains that look like they let in the perfect amount of light at sunrise to cue you to start fishing, surfing, or whatever adventure the day might bring.
This second generation Bus comes with plenty of engineering improvements. First of all, the 1.6-liter motor in this one is more powerful than anything available in the first generation, but that's only half the story. The VW flat four motor is one of the easiest and most economical powerplants to maintain and improve. For those who enjoy a fun weekend project, there are a lot of companies devoted to offering inexpensive upgrades that can quickly be installed without needing a huge toolbox. In fact, getting the most power from this motor is part of Bus ownership culture. Of course, one of the easiest ways to get the best engine performance in these vans is to master the power band of the four-speed manual transmission. Another reason why the second-generation Type 2s are desirable is because the suspension was also greatly improved. The original vans utilized a modified Beetle setup, but a second generation Bus was built to better handle the unique weight and height of the vans.
This VW Bus has so much to give. It's the classic vehicle that can take you to the lake one weekend, and then the next weekend a trip to a concert with friends. It's time to choose your adventure. Call now!
