You just don't see trucks like this anymore. 1979 was the last, and arguably the best year for this classic style of the F-100 pickup. Ford's original Deluxe two-tone Light Jade and Wimbledon White packaging is factory correct, but it also gives a warm feeling of an F-Series truck of an even older vintage. Plus, all the highly stylized chrome trim that goes with the paintwork makes this one an instant classic. But despite 1950s era colors, the younger age means this truck still has a lot of practical daily use left in it. In fact, look inside the bed. It's obvious the truck earned its stripes going to work, but the absence of large gashes and big dents means whoever had this pickup before cared about it enough to be careful when loading. Trucks can often feel a bit drab inside, but not this one. The two-tone exterior attitude is carried over with two shades of green brightening up the interior. The original jade bench seat has been upgraded to now offer a comfortable cloth insert for the driver and passenger. The carpets, door cards, and headliner also feel much more luxurious than just a workman's vehicle. There's even a bit of wood paneling on the glove box door, just to continue this appearance of pickup indulgence. But as you know a truck's true job is not to coddle, and so this one has plenty of functionality. The power steering and automatic transmission means this pickup can work and play in town, or over long distances. Plus, the vent windows and heat/defrost means this is a year-round truck.

Take a look under the hood and you'll know this is a survivor quality blue oval. The 302 cubic-inch V8 is believed to be original and does not appear to have been fussed with over the years. It's under 2,500 miles per year average has given this pickup the carefully worn-in appearance that impresses the most at car shows and cruise-ins today. You can even see the factory emissions control sticker on the valve cover, and the jack is still mounted in its original strap! So while you might not have thought about buying this to show off, be prepared to grab a lot of attention. Still, deep down this is a workhorse. The V8 has plenty of grunt to make light work of any task you throw at it. Plus, the three-speed automatic, power front disc brakes, and Goodyear 235/75R15 (riding on newer F-Series chrome wheels) are all handy features for everyday use.
