S-CODE 390, 4-SPEED, ACAPULCO BLUE, 3:25 TRAC-LOK, FULL ROTISSERIE RESTO, MARTI!

This impressive 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 delivers in a very big way, and once you see the list of specs and the quality of the work, that price is going to look like a screaming bargain. Yes, it's a real S-code 390/4-speed car, and given the way Boss 302 prices have skyrocketed lately, you can bet that top-tier Mach 1s like this are not far behind.

Acapulco Blue is one of those colors that everyone can agree looks awesome. Put it on a 1969 Mustang, and things get very interesting indeed. And if that Mustang happens to be a big block Mach 1, well, then it's easy to explain the crowds that this car routinely attracts at shows. Following a full rotisserie restoration, this car sparkles in the sunlight and looks predatory at night. The Mach 1 is one of Ford's better ideas, successfully giving the Mustang the aggressive look and attitude that it had been craving from the beginning. A blacked-out hood with scoop, a deep chin spoiler, rear-window slats, and a matching wing on the rear deck all give the sportsroof a very performance-oriented attitude. But the car's also subtle, with little more than a gold stripe running along its flanks and a blacked-out tail panel to advertise that this is ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

But the car's also subtle, with little more than a gold stripe running along its flanks and a blacked-out tail panel to advertise that this is something truly special. A few bright chrome pieces that have been nicely refinished and you end up with one of the best-looking Mustangs of all time.

With high-back buckets and a console, this Mustang's interior is both functional and comfortable. The Mach 1 was designed to straddle the luxury/performance market, and nowhere is that more apparent than inside. The seats are sporty with correct Comfort-Weave seat covers front and rear, and fastbacks have always been practical cars with their fold-down rear seats. The wood appliques on the doors, dash, and console warm up the monochromatic interior, and while the wheel isn't stock, the wood rim looks right in the vintage pony car. Round gauges enhance the sporting flavor of the Mustang, and the T-handle Hurst shifter bangs through the gears with real authority, yet comes back for more every time. A factory AM/FM radio keeps everything very authentic-looking, so you know the restorer's vision was of a Mach 1 without any excuses. The trunk is also neatly finished with a reproduction mat that fits better than most.

The S-code 390 cubic inch V8 was rebuilt in 2013 and runs superbly today. During the build it was treated to an .030-inch overbore, but the rest of the specifications are stock, as if an engine making 320 horsepower and 427 pounds of torque needs any help. With a nice coat of Ford Blue on the block, a factory air cleaner up top, and reproduction decals, it looks extremely fresh and highly correct, right down to the reproduction Autolite battery. Long-tube headers are the only major modification, but the way this one sounds exhaling through a pair of Flowmasters, you'll forgive them for making that particular choice. The 4-speed manual transmission feels indestructible as you run it through its paces, and the 3.25 gears with Track-Lok limited slip are a nice balance between acceleration and highway cruising. Magnum 500 wheels and 235/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials complete the look.

One of the most desirable early Mustangs, this Mach 1 will be the envy of every Mustang guy at the next cruise night. Few are better looking and with big block power, nobody will be smiling wider than the driver. Call today!
