If picking up a gorgeous 1955 Ford Thunderbird was not already a great idea, how about one that's a former star. Yup, you were not the only one attracted to this classic T-Bird. It's a museum quality car that spent many years doing just that. And at a price like this, it wont last in our showroom!

These first-year Thunderbirds are true icons. It only gets better when it's in the rare factory-correct color of V-code Goldenrod Yellow. The clean, bright, distinctive paint leaves a lasting impression that complement's the Thunderbird's legendary long and chrome-laden look. The car looks pretty original except for one piece that's obvious to Ford fans. The rear continental kit was not offered until '56, but this one gains some flair, and much needed trunk space, with a custom unit that even extends the tailpipes. This is the kind of appearance that will slow traffic especially with its contrasting black folding soft top, or black removable hardtop in place. You were not the only one to stop and stare at this yellow and black T-Bird. The people at Coker Tire liked it so much they used it for a promotional vehicle. We still have some advertisements featuring this convertible, and it ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

EXCELLENT RESTO, 292 V8, AUTO, CONT KIT, 2 TOPS, 12 VOLT SYS, PWR WIN/STEER/BRKS

We still have some advertisements featuring this convertible, and it even spent years featured in the company's museum. In fact, you'll still find the car's wire wheels in their catalog today.

If you liked the outside appearance, you'll love the interior. Only the Goldenrod cars received the two-tone black and yellow seats, and door panels. It's a striking combination that will have people complementing you about how clean the interior looks, and many will swear it's a custom creation. Style and luxury were the true hallmarks of this classic, and that's why it came with rare features for its time like the power seats and power windows. The heat/defrost sliders and upgraded AM/FM radio with iPod controls are all displayed in an machine-turned panel that flows across both doors, and the dash. This frames the power steering wheel, and above it is the nifty speedometer that's lit from behind by a Plexiglas panel viewed through the windshield. Just to the left of this is the tachometer, and below to the right is a full set of auxiliary gauges. So while this is a luxury cruiser, you do get a few reminders of the large V8 under the hood.

The "Thunderbird Special" 292 cubic inch V8 looks authentic right down to iconic Thunderbird logo, valve covers, and hood-fed chrome teapot air filter. Just like interior and the exterior, the engine bay is predominantly black and yellow, which really draws the eyes to the red block peeking out from under the components. It's a powerhouse of a motor, but it doesn't lose its luxury-minded attitude as it sweetly purrs through its extended dual exhaust system. The Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission stays comfortable as it clicks through the gears without a fuss. The final part of this classic cruiser package is the perfect set of bias-ply tall whitewall tires.

People love a '55 because it's the car that launched an icon. But this one is a cut above because while plenty of celebrities drove Thunderbirds, this T-Bird is a celebrity. Add in its rare paint and included original parts such as the factory radio, and we know this convertible won't last long in our showroom. Call today!!
