This tidy and well-documented 1972 Ford F-250 Camper Special pickup gets things right where it matters: a nice-sounding V8 engine, air conditioned cab, great color combination, and usability that even goes beyond the enhanced heavy-duty practicality of an F-250. With vintage pickups being red-hot right now, this is a great way to look cool while getting your work done, if you so choose.
Looking at the door tag, you'll see this truck is wearing correct code-M3 Swiss Aqua over Wimbledon White. Of course the shining condition tells us there has been a nice recent investment in erasing decades of going to work. The real proof is in the pickup bed, where someone went the extra mile and straightened every dent, gouge, or mark that shows it ever carried a load, or maybe it never did have a hard life. Either way, now the paint has a straight canvas to showcase its sunny, bright disposition that is an ideal choice for a vintage pickup. This one even stays faithfully original right down to the factory hubcaps. The F-250 came standard with the longer wheelbase, and larger eight-foot long bed (an option for the F-100s in 1972), so when it's time to get to work, this truck is up for doing more. ...
Also speaking of work, we're sure you noticed the Camper Special badges. This adds features such as a beefier suspension, extra wiring harness, and larger Western mirrors. But, where this distinctive option package really adds value is its sought-after status in the pickup community today.
This is not only a Camper Special, but also a Sport Custom, which means this is one loaded pickup that came with one of Ford's best truck interiors. Wide enough for three across seating, the cab is surprisingly spacious, even in this age of extended and crew cab pickups. Door panels have the premium padded vinyl that match the rest of the interior, and have an armrest for long haul comfort. The simple but easy-to-read gauges are arrayed ahead of the driver, and seem to be in original condition, as well as the factory steering wheel. In fact, this pickup has a nice original feel right down to the AM radio. But keen eyes will notice one very nice addition. There is a modern R-134a air conditioning unit, so this pickup is even a joy in the summertime.
We've already hinted that this Ford was built to take on the big jobs, and now look under the hood for more proof. That's the big blue oval's 390 cubic-inch V8. This FE motor has been recognized as the perfect size for power in Ford's truck and muscle car programs. In this pickup it starts easily, and has a nice burble from twin tailpipes. Power steering, front disc brakes, and the three-speed C6 automatic heavy duty transmission are nice additions to help make any task easier. Yes, we've been mentioning a lot about work, but there's another way to look at this. Thanks to this F-250's 8,100 lbs GVWR and beefy Dana 60 rear end (running 4.10 gears) it can haul like a modern pickup. Just imagine how cool you'll look towing a boat or a camper in your vintage truck!
This is an amazing looking 1972 Ford pickup has had a great life so far, and we have the build sheet, Marti report, original bill of sale, maintenance receipts, owners manual, and plenty more documents to prove it. It's a desirable classic F-250 Camper Special that's as practical as a modern truck. Call today!!
