This big, beautiful 1975 Pontiac Grand Ville Brougham is one of the best ways to be distinctive, yet unmistakably American, in an affordable package. The desirable 455 V8 under the hood is just the cherry on top of this droptop.
This big convertible has big 70's style. It was originally a black car, but this looks much more period-correct (and a heck of a lot easier to maintain) now that it's utilizing a color closer to Pontiac's extensive brown/beige palette. And no one will question it thanks to the pinstripe and full-length trim that match the vinyl folding roof color. The nicely detailed '75 facelift gave the big Pontiac more elegance with a cleaner profile. Description
For example, the fender skirts look both stylish and sporty, and the full-width taillights with intricate wave pattern are in excellent condition. In fact, this one is compete right down to the correct Grand Ville badging and Pontiac Rallye II wheels.
The factory-correct, handsome brown interior complements the exterior color nicely, and matches the convertible top. The diamond-tufted pattern in the seatbacks are an instant reminder that Pontiacs were a more upscale brand, that offered luxury with their sporting image. The same can be said for the shag carpet, wood paneling on the dash, and the design of the door panels. Just like a true driver's Pontiac, the wrap-around gauge cluster puts all the controls within easy reach, and the instruments are amazingly well preserved. This is a comfortable cruiser with power windows, cruise control, and the original AM/FM radio. A power top with glass rear window was standard equipment, and when folded, the roof fits nicely into its storage well.
The 455 cubic inch V8 was optional in the Grand Ville, and that gave it a nice extra wallop of power and torque over the standard motor. So this big ragtop has no trouble being the effortless cruiser that it appears to be. This is backed up by the automatic transmission, power steering, front disc brakes, and the modern grip of Michelin tires. This Pontiac has a strong-running personality that's perfect for taking all the family and friends out for a fun day on the town. And you're likely never going to see another one on your road trip, because Pontiac only made 4,519 examples of this in '75 – quite a bit fewer than even the Grand Ville's stablemates across General Motors.
This was the final year for the Grand Ville program, and there would never be a big and sporty convertible from Pontiac again. So now is your opportunity to pick up a nice tribute to a grand tradition at a value price. Call Today!!
