REAL GT, 63B LUXURY SPEC, 289 V8, 4 SPD, PONY INT, DISCS, RED OXIDE UNDER, NICE!

There's a hierarchy when it comes to 1965 Ford Mustangs, and the fastback GT is king. After all, this was inaugural year for the highly sought after 2+2 body and its go-fast upgrades. Plus, you're looking at a rare code 63B Luxury designation. So having one that looks this original isn't just attractive; it's also a sound investment.

The name, Vintage Burgundy, for this car's factory-correct code X paint is a bit of cool foreshadowing. When this one was built, they must have known how much of an extraordinary classic it would become. The 2+2 fastback style is rare and desirable today, but this one is even more special. Ford made over half a million Mustangs in 1965, but only 5,776 were built to 63B Luxury spec. Plus, it isn't the only rare option packaging on this fastback. You have also picked up on all the correct GT exterior enhancements, including the fog light grille, GT side badging, rocker stripe, and trumpet exhaust. But even if you strip away the rare packaging, you'd fall in love with this pony car anyway. After all, the fastback has the dramatic long hood/short deck design, and the sporty side cove that carves through its flanks.

One of the coolest coordinating colors ... Please ask for the full description.

One of the coolest coordinating colors to the deep burgundy exterior is a bright off-white interior. It's a true luxury level Mustang with the great crinkle vinyl on the premium "Pony" package bucket seats. When you sit behind the wheel, you realize this is one of the best '65 Mustangs you could ever own. The wood on the three-spoke steering wheel matches nicely with paneling on the center console and the dash. And when you look at the full set of GT-correct round gauges, you realize it even has the tach/clock Rally Pac. This one really is authentic and loaded!

Under the hood are more signs of great care. This is a correct A-code 289 cubic-inch V8 with four-barrel carburetor. It looks great with the shiny elements like the air cleaner and valve covers, but beyond just the attention-grabbing components that impress at car shows, this motor has had a significant investment in keeping it a reliable runner. The engine was rebuilt 1,500 miles ago, and this includes new cam, lifters, rear main seal, headers, and radiator (you can see the full list in the included receipts.) At the same time the four-speed manual was also rebuilt. So you've got a strong-running performance V8, combined with a stick shift that gives you complete control. Remember this is a true GT, so it still has additional great driving components like the larger front sway bar, quick ratio steering box, and front disc brakes. This is finished off with cool double redline tires on modern BF Goodrich rubber and factory stylized steel wheels.

An ultra rare 63B real-deal GT '65 Mustang. This is the kind of vintage American icon that will keep you talking... that is if they can ever get you off the road long enough for a chat. You may want to hurry before someone else falls in love with this one too. Call today!!
