ORIG 5.5L V8, 73K MI, AUTO, 2 TOPS, A/C, LOADED, WELL TAKEN CARE OF, GREAT BUY!

Sometimes a deal just hits you right in the face. This classic 1988 Mercedes 560SL comes with the perfect original color combination, powerful V8 motor, and exceptional maintenance...and yet you don't have to pay over $20k to take it home.

The 560SL is highly desirable because it's an entire wish list in one car. These are elegant, powerful, comfortable, timeless and nimble classics. The now legendary R107 model designation is iconic because it represents an era when very few companies could build a convertible without worrying about safety regulations. Mercedes built their cars so robustly that the R107 exceeded these standards, and they did it elegantly without an unsightly roll bar. It was the go-to driver for celebrities, dignitaries, and the wealthy because the sleek lines hid a full size interior and usable trunk that was perfect for any road trip. The factory Arctic White paint has timeless desirability, especially when it still retains the full luster you see here. Also, this one carries the distinction of the more aerodynamic factory alloy wheels that only came on the later R107 cars.

One of the best complements to the exterior paint is the interior color. Whether people see ... Please ask for the full description.

Whether people see you on sunny days with the optional blue leather, or even when the new blue fabric top is up, both of these highlight the kind of corresponding colors that are still being utilized by the finest carmakers today. Beyond just the perfect hues, this Mercedes is desirable because there's plenty of evidence of a pampered life. The carpets, dashboard, and wood grain center console basically show no signs of sun damage – a near impossible find in a classic droptop. The 560SL was one of the most expensive cars Mercedes offered during its reign, so the features list is quite long. This includes conveniences such as air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power steering, cruise control, and the original Becker AM/FM cassette stereo. Because this was built 1988, there are also more modern safety features than most R107s, such as anti-lock brakes, a third brake light, and a driver's air bag. You even get the removable hardtop that is color-keyed to make this roadster look like an elegant coupe.

The 560SL came with a big 5.6-liter V8 motor making 238 hp and 287 lb-ft of torque – more than the contemporary Rolls-Royces. On the road, an R107 has a fully independent chassis that is the perfect balance of elastic comfort in a tight-handling package. This was topped of with four-wheel disc brakes for the best all-around control. In total, the Mercedes SL is certainly in a class all of its own. It has always been hard to define its competitors because no other car combines grand touring comfort in a quick and nimble machine so perfectly. This numbers-matching example has preserved the heritage and has averaged about 2,600 miles per year since new. Just because this car has not covered nearly as much ground as its contemporaries does not mean it was sitting out on upkeep. In fact, this one comes with its maintenance records as well as the original owner's manual.

It's hard not to get excited about complete timeless elegance for less than the price of just about any new convertible out there. But you're not the only one who sees this, so we know it won't last long in our showroom. Call today!!
