All the great big personality of the 1970s without the drab earthtone color pallet. This 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V is a low mileage time capsule that you can pick up for less than just about any other example of classic luxury around. This kind of iconic value goes quickly around here!
The Continental has always been a great American luxury car with a TON of vintage sheetmetal. This style Mark V was longer, wider, and lower than its predecessors. The hood alone looks like it could have its own horizon. The white paintwork is the perfect backdrop for the razor-sharp fender creases as it offers the classic premium appeal of a freshly starched white button-down shirt. The front has the Rolls-Royce style grille, and 1970s cool flat front hidden headlights. This is accented by attractive parking light lenses that are miniature works of casting genius. Out back, the deck lid features the Continental's trademark spare tire hump/continental kit. This example retains all of its great factory premium touches including the half vinyl roof, deep dish wheel covers, and red pinstriping.
Inside the seating reflect the exterior perfectly. The white leather has red piping just like the outside pinstriping for a very premium and uniform appearance. The interior is large enough to comfortably seat six people, and up front you can fold down the armrests for true independent luxury. As expected with a true premium cruiser, this one comes with power everything - power windows, power door locks, power front seats, and even a power sunroof. Other modern luxury features in this classic include cruise control, AM/FM/cassette stereo, and provisions for air conditioning. There is even a Cartier in-dash clock in front of the driver, so you know this is true automotive jewelry.
Ford's smooth and refined 400 cubic-inch Cleveland V8 provides effortless performance in the Continental. It has good horsepower, but the real story is the torque that's about enough to pull a boat. Of course you will likely never want to tow a yacht in this beautiful big bodied car, but it's this kind of available strength that allow you to smoothly and quickly cruise away from the stoplight. Fans of originality will love how the big blue Ford engine looks factory-fresh, and it does show signs of being the original powerplant. While this is the perfect car for the drive-in (after all, it's more comfortable than any movie theater seat), there's much more to the Mark V. It has a three-speed C6 automatic transmission, power steering, and disc brakes at all four wheels. This means you can ride in comfort to car meets as far away as you want.
This Continental Mark V is vintage luxury in a complete package at a value price. The only way you'll be disappointed is if you don't act quick enough to get this classic cruiser in your garage. Call today!!
