FULLY RESTORED IMP DROPTOP, SLICK PAINT/INTERIOR, 283, AUTO, PWR STEER/BRKS/TOP!

This pretty gold 1962 Chevrolet Impala convertible is an awesome summertime cruiser with a great-running 283, room for friends, and a top that goes down; what more can a guy ask for? Not intended to be a concours competitor, it's a fantastic driver and nicely preserved car that's focused on getting the basics right, so it looks great and drives even better!

We all know that the 1962 Impala is an icon, celebrated in movies, TV shows, and music videos as the ultimate early-60s toy. But finding a good one can be a challenge, so when this ultra-clean Imp rolled into our showroom, we knew it was a winner. I suppose the color could pass for the original Autumn Gold and it looks great, especially with all the familiar black, white, and red Impalas around; the subtlety really stands out. The bodywork is straight, including those massive quarters, which show no serious issues or major accident damage and the doors fit well, always an important factor in a ragtop. Body gaps are good, and the crisp details like the character line that swoops down from the headlights to the rear bumper remain sharply defined. Of course, any Impala needs that trademark engine-turned trim running along its flanks, and ... Please ask for the full description.

Of course, any Impala needs that trademark engine-turned trim running along its flanks, and on this one it glitters like freshly machined aluminum, a nice contrast that works extremely well against the gold paint. Great chrome on the bumpers and a nice original grille all reinforce the best aspects of the early Impalas, and no V8 Chevy is complete without some kind of crossed-flag emblem like those on the front fenders of this Imp.

The handsome beige vinyl interior is simply gorgeous, the product of a fresh restoration and very little use since it was completed. The seats wear factory patterns and those gorgeous button-tufted door panels show lots of sparkling trim and neat red reflectors, ostensibly for safety at night. The carpets are so new they still wear factory plastic wrap for protection, as well as a set of color-matched floor mats. All of the instruments, the dash pad, and the dashboard itself all look bright and fresh, although the gauges monitor only the basics. The handsome steering wheel is clean, elegant but full of detail and it shows no cracks or major defects despite the fact that we believe it's original, and it hangs on a tilt steering column. A factory AM/FM radio lives in the center of the dash and there's a mini console between the bucket seats, a nice find in any early Imp. Overhead there's a black power convertible top with a crystal clear rear window and a matching white boot.

A 283 cubic inch V8 lives between this Imp's front fenders and looks pretty stock. Yes, it's a little grungy, but the way it runs will make you understand why the guy who owned it didn't want to go in there and start messing around. It's wearing proper Chevy Orange paint and a big factory air cleaner, and even the 12-volt generator is still making the electricity, so the driving experience is very much 1962. Underneath, a 2-speed PowerGlide automatic transmission transfers power to the original rear end, and it barks through a nice sounding dual exhaust system with a bit of a rumble. Power steering and brakes make it a joy to drive and it sits on recent 14-inch whitewall radials on factory wheels with spinner hubcaps.

This is a great-looking code 18 V8 Impala convertible that will definitely stand out wherever it goes thanks to a combination of great looks and upscale appeal. Call today!
