You're looking at a real-deal 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS, but just one mere glance, and you know there have been some serious investments in upgrades. That iconic Hugger Orange paint, custom interior, and fire-breathing ZZ427 480 hp crate motor, all tell you this is the coolest Camaro you can gets your hands on!
Citrus Green is a fine factory color for 1970, but it just would not do this mean machine justice. That's why it has been given a professional respray to the color reserved for the best Camaros – Hugger Orange. But more than just excellent paintwork, the iconic white SS stripes help accent the large cowl induction hood, and spoiler that runs end-to-end over the rear. This coupe was given a full frame off restoration a few years ago. Workmanship is excellent - you can see how straight this one is just from the photos and the reflections in the surface. This is one complete, and aggressive, package that is certainly helped by the chin spoiler up front, as well as the Rally Sport dual front split bumpers that makes way for Z/28's iconic large blacked-out grille. A great finishing touch is the staggered size of the torque thrust wheels with Z/28 centercaps that is both vintage, and intimidating.
The black interior is so fresh it looks like a new one was installed during the restoration. Camaro fans will take particular notice of the bucket seats. 1970 was the first year of the second generation Camaros, and these low-back bucket seats with intricate weave pattern were only offered this year. You get the factory center console with a bold Hurst shifter in the middle. The right stock pieces are in place such as the heat/defrost controls and RS sport steering wheel, but there are plenty of nice upgrades, too. There's an AM/FM/CD stereo so you can listen to your favorite music. Plus, there's now a full gauge package with modern Dakota Digital readouts, which is just another hint at something special under the hood.
Yes, you did read the intro correctly. The engine bay is filled with a monster 427 cubic inch ZZ427 crate motor from General Motors Performance Parts. With 480 horsepower reliably on tap, you know this is the king of the streets. Plus, the long tube headers and new Pypes performance X-pipe dual exhaust lets everyone know it with a ferocious rumble. But more than just sounding great, this Camaro knows how to get its power to the road. You get the control of a rebuilt Muncie four-speed manual that sends power to a stout 12-bolt rear end with Positraction. Control over this monster Z/28 is well in hand thanks to front and rear sway bars form the F41 package. Plus there's power steering, front disc brakes, and modern Nankang AS-1 performance tires at all four corners.
You only need to take a look at the undercarriage photos to see the high level of investment in this F-body. This is a Z/28 that come with the originality of the owner's manual, but the all-out dominance of a fire-breathing crate motor. It's all wrapped in a beautifully restored package that tells us it's priced to be gone tomorrow. Call now!
